Maybe if you are strictly talking about "fast and the furious" outlaw street racing scenes. But most of us are not part of that sub culture.

Automotive experts and journalists will call cars that can run 12's brutally fast. And for every day driving, and in most situations on the street, that's true.

600rwhp + cars are insanely fast for an every day street car. You have to be very careful at those power levels, even in a 3800lb car. And it's rare you can even use all that power, at least on the roads most of us drive on, on a daily basis.

Again, it's all relative. To make it a general statement that a 600rwhp street car is "slow" is plain and simply asinine.
Low 11s high 10s is not an uncommon thing on rolling around the street these days. There are 4 cylinder cars that if your not carful will hurt your feelings..

It's not common either. Maybe 1 out of every 100,000 cars out on the road? (if that)

And of course there is always something faster out there, in all shapes and sizes.

But I have a mere 12.5 sec mustang and I rarely roll up on something faster. I'm older and rarely race anymore, but I still have some fun here and there, and haven't "lost" yet & had the car for almost 5 years now (Not including the ricers willing to carve in and out of tight traffic, narrowly missing people - I don't play that game)

Clearly it's all relative. Either you are incredibly ignorant and fail to realize that your way of thinking, relative to what's "fast" in an every day street car, is in a galaxy far...far away from the norm. Or you just like playing the part of billy badass frowning upon what most enthusiasts consider to be very fast.

Also, just want to say for the record, your young friend better be VERY CAREFUL, because I guarantee he has no clue how dangerous a 700-1000rwhp car can be on the street. He's coming from a civic, and is being brainwashed by your billy badass way of thinking. Hope he doesn't hurt anyone.

It might be more of just surroundings. Here in Houston, EVERYONE has a boosted car. I can throw a rock up in the air and hit a camaro or mustang with 600rwhp. DFW is the same way.

Hell back in highschool(over 10 years ago) when I lived in waco, low 11 high 10second cars where pretty regular for our daily drivers.

If you live in a town where everyone drives honda civics and v6 toyota Camarys sure. A 600rwhp 4000lb car is "fast".

These 15 mustangs at 600rwhp just aren't fast. Sure if you drive like an idiot you can mess yourself up quick, but these 15's just aren't "dangerous" at 600rwhp. They are very tame. Both my 14 and 15 mustang have a similar powertrain. My 14 at "600rwhp" and my 15 at "600rwhp" are two different cars. My old fox body with 600rwhp were animals. My old 87 regular cab shortbed F-150 with a built bigblock was outright fun to drive:cool:

I let my wife drive my 15 on wastegate(640rwhp) in the rain. It drives like a stock car, and as far as she is concerned she wouldn't know the difference between it and a v6 mustang. The 335 pilot sports on the back I'm sure help. I wouldn't put my wife in the car if I knew she wouldn't be able to handle it.

Around the 700-750rwhp mark, the mustangs get to where you need to learn to drive them a bit. They actually require your attention. When you get close to the 1000rwhp marks, I will absolutely be the first to tell someone you better know how to drive.

When I told phoenix he could drive my 15, I can promise you he had this notion that 600rwhp is going to send him into hyper space and wreck in a fiery death. I could tell he was super nervous. I think at around 20-30 miles of driving the car, he was already going 120mph telling me "something has to be wrong with the car, it doesn't feel fast at all." Not realizing he was driving a car that was trapping over 100mph in the 1/8 that day when it was well over 100 outside.

Phoenix has road with me multiple times, and he still will "tap out" at my Sp3 setting(around 950rwhp).

If it's not supposed to rain, I drive my cars. I'm not a garage queen that only comes out saturday for 2-3 hours then gets put back up. Maybe some of yall have this mental block from magazine articles saying 600rwhp is fast. I'm just saying it a very tame power figure in todays cars, and IMO aren't fast.

Even if it does rain, I still drive my car 60 miles away...

Keep E-85 in the back seat. Although I have a 93 tune, 600rwhp is THAT boring to me.

Typically drive it to the grocery store and back..

And last, here is the car flat lining the dyno at 1200rwhp...

Last, here is phoenix driving my 15... So calm and collected, driving a car that makes over 1000rwhp...

Wait you are in here, saying a 600rwhp Mustang is a beast blah blah blah, and your 15 mustang is n/a and only runs 12.5's?

All points you made in this thread are invalid.

LMAO. Obviously you can drive a High HP Boosted car easy...what's the....ahhh nevermind...I could go on and on picking apart your comments, but what's the point...you are a hopeless ignoramus living in your own world & an ego-maniac.

I bet when you were 4, your big-wheel had a 200hp Briggs & Stratton engine & it was too slow for you, right? lol.

Carry on, Billy...

Around that age, I had a go cart with a 3.5hp motor. Dad went out of town and I stole his 5.0hp Briggs off his rototiller, took off the rpm governor, and threw a rod.

You call me names, and ignorant, etc. but you are the one with an n/a car, in a forced induction forum, with car that only runs 12.5's, telling me I'm ignorant and don't know what I'm talking about?

I've raced since I was young, worked for two different nitrous companies, worked for speed shop, good friends with multiple speed shop owners.

Phoniex had the same mindset as you, came on the forum and stated his view points, and y'all go and bash him.

Fatherford couldn't even run his car at my local track - Route 66 Joilet, IL.

"Roll cage mandatory in cars running 10.99 or quicker and exceeding 135 MPH"

I'm from the Chicago area where there are plenty of fast cars and bikes. Running 10s is fast. I don't care what you're in. And as mentioned before the majority of vehicles on the road are not 10 second monsters.

And if you don't think a 600rwhp can get away from someone you're naive. I've seen guys with way less power lose it.

BTW, why are you not on the timeslip list? You should be in the fast group with low 9s since 10s aren't fast. There is a guy on youtube with a 2.9 KB running 9.1@148. Oh yeah, he's only 950rwhp. You should be able to dust this car.

10.90s was fast. Rofl. Okay buddy.

It's funny that only 7 guys on this site have sub 10.90 cars. 10.90s is fast. I know guys with 150hp bikes that are only doing 11.1s.

And nobody said you couldn't drive 1000hp cars around. But me personally wouldn't daily drive 1000hp waste of fuel.

That guy is an idiot. Is like saying, "you make 20-30million per year? Blah, that was rich 20 years ago that ain't shit now."

It's plain stupid on so many levels, I'm getting a migraine just thinking about it. Fact is if you daily drive a 6-700hp car (s550 in our case) that runs at or sub 10.9s, the probability that you run into someone on the street that is as fast or faster is slim to none on a day to day basis.

Do you know what modification are required for a 3.2/3.6? Seems like the k-brace has to be cut simply judging by the size of the inlet.
I think the kbrace is just removed. You can call Travis@boostworks, a sponsor of the forum, and he can answer any questions.

You won't notice the kbrace gone of so. Their care factory mustangs that don't come with it, it's just an added thing that only hardcore corner carvers MIGHT notice.

Phoenix also had this thought that on my 14 with the skinnies and no front swaybar that it will rock all over the place and just be unstable, which is not the case at all. You can't really even tell.

Dude the bashing is from total ignorance. The 15 GTs straight out are fast for a production car!! Yes I tuned mine and drove ,wanted a little more and decided to do a few things and than put a SC on it. I'm in the area of about 600rwhp,, and it's fast!! I don't care what your used to driving, my car is fast!! It's not NHRA fast but I drive mine other than just at the strip. Yes your car from what we can see is extremely fast!!! These cars arnt slow just not as fast as yours is all.

Sounds like your area needs to step up it's game.

Houston/DFW street racing scene is massive. Like i stated before. I can throw a rock up in the air and hit a 600rwhp car/10 second car.

Nah, it would hit your head.

In fact, I'm thinking the problem might be, you've done this one too many times
