2017 GT Premium - PP Lightening Blue
Hello all, thought I'd post a few thoughts on my first 500 miles!
I purchased a Lightening Blue GT premium PP with most options. I love this car!
Overall the ride is smooth and fast, the look and feel of the car is outstanding and it's a head turner everywhere I've been.
Going though a few options:
Adaptive CC - works great, my first experience with this option and I really like it. Very easy to control and not even an issue when someone cuts you off.
Sync 3 - pretty easy to understand and on Youtube you can find an hour long tutorial that I found very helpful and worth the time. [ame]
Side collision light on side view mirror - work great, not annoying at all and a nice piece of mind.
Premium seats - sweet, comfortable and well bolstered.
Back-up camera and sensor alert - works nicely.
Enhanced security system - don't know what it's doing but no one has tried to steal the car yet.
12 speaker Shaker Audio - so so, interior wise the most disappointing aspect. I was hoping for a bit more sound. Woofer in trunk isn't much.
Voice activated software - still trying to remember the "key" words. otherwise it gets lost in a hurry. Probably more me than anything.
Panel fitment on the car is fine. Several have reported hoods not lined up, or other issues. None here.

Back to the ride. I felt like I had to pull the clutch assist spring right away. I replaced it with the Steeda and it made a world of difference. I can totally "feel" the clutch engaging now. As has been covered here, second gear is a bugger. I have the 3.73 box. You really want to add the gas instead of letting the rpm's fall off, but you kinda have to. Otherwise you're bouncing all over the place.
Handling is outstanding. Didn't test a non PP, but the cornering is sharp and easy, the toggle controls are fun and accurate.
Visibility is great and with the sensors helping, you feel like you have pretty good idea whats happening around you in traffic.
Brakes are fantastic, smooth and no pull at all.
Having ordered this car from the factory and forced to wait a couple months, my expectations were really high. Honestly it met them all. I am a very happy Mustang owner and am looking forward to a lot of great road trips. :ford:

Nice writeup. Waiting for my '17 LB M6 GT PP. Now waiting to see how well I can handle the clutch.

Nice blue. Reminds me of my 06 C6 Lemans blue.

Darn. I was just about to ask what you thought about the PP to non PP. As long as the car rides tight.

Does anyone have a comparison to how it handles? I'd be curious to hear that.

Agree with all the tech stuff, only issue after 900 miles is sometimes Sync3 loses the phone connection, and you have to stop the car open the door for it to reconnect or add the device again

If I could do it all over again, I would have waited for a 2017 LB GT PP Premium. Oh, well. Good looking car!

Nice writeup...fantastic looking car!! There isn't one color for this body style that doesn't look good...but Lightning Blue has to be one of the best.

Are you following the break-in procedure? If so, is it totally killing you to not wind that Coyote right up to 7k? :D

I was keeping it below 5k for the first 300 miles, then bumped the limiter this weekend. I did vary my speeds a lot and I'm usually not an aggressive driver, but no way you can keep off the gas for long. :headbang:
I'll send it in for an oil change at 1000 and call it good.

Hey goldengooner,

Reset the module and pair the phone back with a clean connection. To perform the reset: Select radio > Hold the power button (center of the volume knob) + the right-seek button at the same time for up to 5 seconds.

Keep me in the loop!

Hey FordIVTteam is there any way to get my car to play my ipod that's plugged into the center console(USB 2) on start up? Without the interface looking for Bluetooth(I'm not using), and playing the FM radio, but displaying the ipod songs? There seems to be a completely random amount of time and media button pushes to get it to go back to playing my ipod.

2016 Mustang GT base model w/Performance Package. This is my ONLY complaint about an otherwise fantastic car.

FRPP Short Shifter has helped with smoothing the 1-2 shift, for me anyway. It does allow more noise into the cabin but I kind of like the mechanical background noise. Once you get above 20 MPH or so, you can't hear it anyway. I did 500 miles last Friday and had no issues with added noise at highway speeds.

Hey Aarron_M,

Have you tried pressing the voice command button on the steering wheel and saying USB then PLAY? For more info on streaming audio, check out this link: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync...and-media/play-music-with-sync.html?sync=sync

I haven't. I just want my car to play what I was playing last on start up. It makes no sense to have to go through prompts and buttons.

That link didn't help anything either.
