All Coyotes are aluminum block, except I think Ford Racing did cast some iron blocks as drag racing prototypes, don't know if they were released to any racers though. Flat Plane crank is a vibration nightmare, Ford had to add a bunch of mass damping onto the block, exhaust, and accessories to make it survive. The GT350 really should not be heavily modified and Ford is not going to release the motor in the Ford Performance catalog. This Cross Plane 5.2 is very cool and I am hoping it becomes the Mach 1 engine, they would probably rate it at 475 using the standard GT heads to compete with the Camaro. The GT350 heads are very expensive for production and they probably don't want to create a car too close in HP to the 350. Just a little informed speculation.

Makes perfect sense . May be if/when they stop making the GT350??

Well.....CJPony Parts have said a Mach 1 is coming but if it's "just" a little more powerful than the stock GT, I'd imagine it's going to be effectively a Bullitt spec (GT350 intake/tune). I should be happy with that, but knowing what goodies Ford have in their "parts bin", I can't help thinking a n/a CPC version of the 5.2 (effectively a GT500 sans blower) would be superb. This is kinda what the '03/'04 Mach 1 was......a n/a Cobra.

I appreciate that may tread on the toes of the GT350, but make the Mach 1 a dragstrip/street focused car, rather than a road course carver and I'd say there's room for both.
