4 week wait for inspection post Ford Assist recovery !

So a triple whammy today on my 18 month of Bullitt, 3 warnings and the MIL light on lit in steady orange:

Restarting the car doesn't clear it- and in fact I get the warning message that exhaust note selection is not available [OK].

So have phoned my local dealer, first appointment to assess is 4 weeks away. (18th March 2022), They suggested since the car is new/warrantied to call Ford Assist. They ran some checks for me - they are genuine so the AA will now visit and check to ensure the car is safe to drive to get it to the dealer - or have it recovered there for me. However, I will still be at the mercy of the next available slot - 18th March !!!

Going to be pushing for a loan car for the entire period - as no way is this acceptable level of service

Why not take it to Motorsport and Performance in Batley? they know more about Mustangs than Ford seem to! not too far away from you and they really do know their stuff

is the no exhaust mode selection message not an indicator of the wiring loom rubbing near the active valves? Might be a worth a look but aye if you have options for an independent specialist then go there and save the hassle

Now duly delivered to Lookers in Middlesborough

The AA confirmed that the exhaust valves wasn't a wiring thing - one was in fact seized. Safe to drive - just watch the temperature, which was easy as it was pretty much in limp mode. Excellent MPG though getting to to Middlesborough - was 39 Mpg !!

The first call I had from Lookers though was 'how come I have side running lights and was that wiring there for them before it started generating errors'

I pointed out that I've run with them for 18 months on multiple cars and a) they've never been an issue. b) are not wired into the 'powertrain electrical harness' c) are on the same circuit as they as by default on American road cars from the factory

Almost as if the dealer wanted to revoke the warranty based upon having side running lights !

You may well be uber competent but they don't know that. I sort of understand why they are asking questions.

Well following hours and hours of investigation, they think they have found the fault.
