As I have a 2019 car my Lane Assist function can be turned off and will not restart with the car. I assume the 2020 onwards cars have the automatic on on restart for Lane Assist? Perhaps somebody with a newer car can confirm?

If it does, there is an easy way to turn it off without resorting to Forscan that takes less than a minute in the car and works for any new Ford. This turns the functionality back to pre 2019 where it remembers the setting.

Follow the procedure to change Lane Keeping Assist from the Default On setting to Last Save.

1. Switch on the ignition.

2. Wait at least 15 seconds.

NOTE: Steps 3 and 4 must be completed within 60 seconds, otherwise the entire procedure must be repeated.

3. Press and hold the ON/OFF switch – Lane Keeping Assist for at least 1 second and then release the switch.

Step 4 3 Repeat another four times.

5. The indicator – Lane Keeping Assist flashes twice to confirm that Lane Keeping Assist has been changed from Default On to Last Save.

6. Perform an ignition cycle to confirm the setting of the updated Lane Keeping Assist.

7. Follow the same procedure to switch back to "Default On".

OK thanks guys. The S650 will almost certainly align with everything else that Ford sell in Europe so if you ever go down that route you will know what to do!

So, without doing anything as far as I know, my Lane Assist has switched on a couple of days ago. I normally had it switched off and it stayed off. However, now when I go into the menus, it seems like the only way to shut it off is to also turn off Pre-Collision, Tyre Pressure Monitor, etc. I have yet to try Greg's advice above, but I thought I could just switch off Lane Assist without turning everything else off?

So, I came upon this thread in searching how to disable the lane keeping feature on my 2023 Mach 1, which somehow activated itself (well, I guess I must've inadvertently hit the switch on the end of the turn signal stalk, which I wasn't even aware was there), after having been off the entire time I owned the car (bought it brand-new roughly 11 months ago).

Question I have, is it push on/push off, and does it stay off permanently (until you switch it back on) regardless of whether or not you turn off/on the ignition switch?

Thanks!

It remembers the last setting on the S550

Yes; I already discovered that. Thanks. I turned it back off, and it's remained off. What an annoying "feature".
It is a lot more annoying if you have to go 3 menu's deep in the infotainment screen every time you start the car as is the case in some cars.
