Doesn't the PP weigh more than the non-PP? Better on the road track, not better in a straight line.
PP is SLIGHTLY heavier (about 30 lbs). part of is the bigger rotors up front, strut tower brace, not sure what else.

But the PP has 275 wide rear tires vs 235 or 245 wide tires on regular GT which is a BIG factor in getting better launches.

PP has a little bit stiffer suspension, better on the track, not necessarily better for 1/4 drag strip.

PP 3.73 gear ratio vs. 3.15 (auto only), 3.31 or 3.55 available for GT
The 3.73 effectively allows the car to put more power/torque down.

Both PP or non-PP cars should do about 12.9 in a 1/4 mile stock.

The are you saying faster or quicker? Wouldn't a 3.73 have a lower top speed than say a 3.31? But the 3.73 should be quicker off the mark?

I dunno shit about this stuff, but it seems logical to me:shrug:
Unless you're planning on racing past 140+ MPH, the 3.73 gear is much more beneficial for the typical drag scenarios.

So my thought is incorrect.... strictly from a top speed point of view?

I believe top speed on a PP is slightly lower...maybe like 5mph or so.....
I have taken my PP to 145 and its still pulling, need more room to top it out..

Also, My buddy has a GT/PP and he raced his co worker that had a brand new 392 BOAT....My buddies GT/PP beat him all 3 times as well, his GT/PP only has a Ford Racing catback...no tune or intake..

Just sharing...

Stock vs stock the Scat Pack kills it in a straight line. Not even close with how fast the 8 spd in the 2015s shift.

Took a 2011 Challenger 392 HEMI all three times last night. He was auto I'm std. He was so surprised he had to look my car over because he couldn't believe it was bone stock.
What were the times? I take it you've got the time slips? :)

Im going with your either a heck of a driver or he was just aweful. Automatic trans is a huge advantage in a drag race. In for timeslips as well.

Having had a 16 GT and now a 17 392 w/8spd auto there is no chance stock for stock of the GT taking the 392 unless poor driving or poor launching of the 392.

Well pre 2015 it may be possible due to the archaic 5 speed auto they used. No chance in hell with the 392/8speed combo vs stock 5.0. On turns that's a different story, but people don't seem to grasp that these cars turn quite well for the weight. Much more planted than the Mustang.

The weight is meaningless when it's still faster. I'll tell you where the 5.0 will win everytime though.... aftermarket. There is so little in aftermarket parts for the 6.4 cars it's a blessing and a curse lol. Wife and wallet are happy.

Also in for timeslips as well.
