3rd Oil Change

Don't know about where you live but here in NC seems that most dealers are sending their customers to Quick Lube for basic oil change / state inspections. I had my 3rd oil change but the first to have oil on my garage floor the next morning, ug! Wiped down what I could & pray that the filter was tightened properly. The plug is dry & the oil is right where it should be on the stick after driving home. Maybe it's just oil that got on the frame when the filter was pulled.... I hope!

I know it beats a long dead horse but this a big reason for doing my own maintenance, and I also enjoy it.

Spray copious amount of brake cleaner then hose the area off with water.

The oil filters are not easily located like the 4.6 liter modulars; therefore, it is difficult to sponge up around the oil filter housing in these 5.0 liter engines. With the oil filter drain flap in the way, it is easy to find oil spillage for a few days after an oil change. I use my undercarriage washer after the engine has cooled down before I park in the garage. You can get an inexpensive washer through Amazon.

Sorry to hear that. Not all dealerships/quicklanes are created equally. Find a mechanic you can trust if you do not have the time to do your own (no shade). I hand my bullitt and/or focus off to my dealer without a second thought because 15+ years of solid service from them has earn my trust.
