3rd Gear Knock what gives!?!?

I am assuming my long tubes are hitting either steering shaft or frame rail, but does the engine move that much? I cannot find anything loose.
The answer is yes it does. I put in the BMR sway bar and had issues with the stage two pulley touching it. That is with the bar all the way forward; I eventually ground out a small notch to make it fit. That was only a 2mm circumference difference... Also had an issue with the exhaust tapping the rear saw...

All in all I see movement of around 1/3 and inch in the front. In the rear ~1/2 an inch.

Do u mean the belt tensioner needing tightened up??


yes like the belt needs to be physically tightened down. i have see A LOT of them where the tensioner is "bouncing" and hitting its built in "stop" and setting off the sensors. this happened on my own car

Please report back asap. I asked Lund to do the same as Matt on tip in retard. I went over everything possible today on false knock externally. Tensioner, motor mounts, piping, intake, Headers, clamps, hoses, exhaust all the way to tips. Nothing is causing it. Really frustrating to go from no knock to knock after only a fuel system and tune change only to be told it isn't the tune repeatedly. Only so much I can do.

well its almost impossible to get e85 to knock. so it HAS to be false knock but just need to figure out from where

Matt Sent me a revised tune earlier today and I loaded it up and I took it for a nice hard rip up the highway. Sorry the charts a little long, but it is a night an day difference compared to my recent logs ( ignore the Heavy Knock at the top of the middle 3rd gear pull There was a wonderful rough patch and hump on the highway)

I am sure Matt will chime in if he thinks differently but I think a fill up with some fresh gas and maybe a bottle of Octanium and I am sure I will be adding timing across the board

Pulled another short log in 3rd gear later on this evening. Added 4 degrees timing through most of the pull

Spent the weekend Tinkering around, cleaning up vaccuum lines, zip tying everything neat and tidy and the logs speak from themselves.

Same Fuel. Same Tune from [MENTION=20966]diablomatt[/MENTION] and knock is nearly gone completely.

looking good. im thinking that yours wasnt actually FALSE knock as much as it was tip in knock. since that is what i changed more than anything.

With the Boss 302 Manifold the Purge valve kinda just dangles underneath the throttle body close to the heads and not far from the knock sensors so I thought when knock did spike to 9* degrees it was most likely from that

I also have an UPR catch Can so I made sure all the lines, were neatly tucked away and re tightened the can itself away from the inside of the fender

you can do it either way. you can set pressure at 60 and leave the factory slopes in it. or what i prefer to do is set the pressure at 43 since its easier on the pumps and then flat line the injector slopes.
