I guess I could get that swap kit and then add a heat exchanger (or reuse the old one for now ) cold air intake , may just do an ice tank (already have an EMP pump ) and whatever else I need to complete the kit on the new motor (or reuse old stuff and get them again when I do the fox swap )
I already have several 10 rib pulleys

The pulleys for the 10 rib 3.8L kit are different than the 10 rib pulleys from the 3.0L. So the ones you currently have will not be compatible with the 3.8L.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the clarification.

if I got the 3.8 /10 rib supercharger pulley, would the rest of the 10 rib kit for the 3.0 work?

Even if it did , by the time I added the throttle body (750) , intake (500) and HD heat exchanger (550) , it would add up to the almost the same price of a complete 6 rib /3.8 kit($7800 vs 7950 ) - I would still need a 10 rib pulley either way .

And I would NOT have an inter cooler pump , reservoir and hoses but would be doing an ice tank and using an EMP anyway either way.

Not much of a savings and getting less stuff starting with the swap kit

I think tthe 3.8 may also be overkill for me .
New block is non sleeved 5.2 so would probably not able to full exploit the 3.8 without another motor anyway .

May be the cobra jet kit would be a better option since it comes with the throttle body ?
IF I could get a discount for deleting the 10 rib drive system .
.... since I would still need to add a CAI and HD heat exchanger ... otherwise best option would be just getting a 3.8 competition kit and using my 10 rib kit (with 3.8/10 rib pulley ) if that works .

May You should start an “exchange “ program for those who want to do the swap ... and then you can sell their old 3.0 as blower and intercooler alone to people like me ?...

it’s actually a bigger saving than I thought starting with the swap kit .
If I will ordered the complete kit with HD exchanger it would be $8350 , so about $550 savings .

The rest of the 10 rib kit is the same between the 3.0L and 3.8L. Just the supercharger pulley itself is different.

Ok
if anyone with a 3.0 is interested in doing the the 3.8 swap I would be interested in buying their “take off “ 3.0.
thanks

lol
I was just about to say I better quit before I confuse @80FoxCoupe anymore .

Thats an option ....but probably not as I am PD blower kind of guy.

unless I get a “take off “ 3.0 I am just going to use the current 3.0 on the new motor with the 10 rib I already have.

if I get a “take off “blower for the new motor then I can swap the old motor /with the current blower/six rib as a unit in to the Fox when it’s done .

if I don’t, then I already have a 2.3 Edelbrock/8 rib set up I can use with the old motor in the Fox . I figure I can port that and spin it to the moon if needed . It will be limited by the throttle body options- GT350/87mm or FRPP 90 mm .
it’s for a 15-17 coyote but I see no reason it wont work on a Gen 3 coyote .

will see . if I end Up not using it then I can use it for another potential project down the road ... I am on a kick finding rollers for my army of engines .

I bet you are confused now If you were not before .

So not looking for just a head unit swap .

i bought a 10 rib conversion kit complete with crank support , alternator relocation kit , cobra tensioner bracket for my current 6 rib kit and was going to swap everything over to a long block I had built (i was going to use the old motor in a fox).
I am now thinking of leaving the 3.0/6 rib kit on the old motor (for the swap ) and getting a 3.8 for the new motor /using the 10 rib kit I already have .
So I would need the complete kit minus a belt drive system since I already have the 10 rib .
I will have to touch base with Whipple and see if i can get an answer for you 🤘🏻

Thanks .
Can you also see if I can get the cobra jet kit without the 10 rib drive since I already have one and several pulleys ?
I figure that potential $1450 plus the cost of a pulley off the price of the kit .

The CJ upgrade kit is totally separate from the 10rib. Yes it deletes the pulley system, but if you already have 10 rib (which, remember, the 3.8L has a different supercharger pulley than the 3.0 its 5 bolt instead) we are unsure if it will be exactly the same as the 3.0L. The idler setup/tensioner plate may end up being different. We'll see.

Ok , forget the 3.8 then , too many potential complications.
I was referring to the cobra jet tuner kit (not the lid upgrade )
I know it does NOT include the damper but I assumed it came with the rest of the 10 rib kit .

i would still be interested in buying just a 3.0 (without the 6 rib drive system ) potentially from some who upgrades to the 3.8.
