So I contacted my dealer and asked for more information on why my car has to wait so much longer to be shipped. He promised to make some phone calls and get back to me. He called me back a few hours later and had no information for me. He apologized and said he wished he knew why and said he will let me know if he finds out why. He called ford and spoke to his people at the dealership and hit dead ends. He said he has never seen a car sit for so long waiting on shipping. I feel like when something like this happens there should be at the minimum some kinda explanation of what's going on, and maybe some kinda compensation from the responsible party. If it's the shipping company ( the car is being trucked in, no train) then maybe I should get a discount on shipping. If it's ford maybe I get a few free oil changes or ford pass points. If it's the dealer maybe a discount on the price of the car (btw I highly doubt it's the dealer). I know it's a different world we live in now with the pandemic but there should be checks and balances. Am I overreacting? It's frustrating.

I don't think you're overreacting, although I fear this is just the future of buying a car. Ford has unlimited power and doesn't care to even try.

I feel foolish for ordering. We all know you can't trust Ford to behave decently, but it's still so disappointing.

I feel bad for you especially, it's difficult to comprehend how they could allow that kind of mistake and not even attempt to communicate anything about it. The level of contempt for their customers is astounding.

Can anyone speculate on average how long it takes from the time a car is scheduled to be built, to the time it makes it to a dealer? 1 month? 2 months? More?

My car is scheduled for the week of May 2. I was wondering if getting it in early June was too much to hope for...

That's probably best case scenario. Don't make plans until it ships, and then be patient, one guy's M1 has been at the Phoenix train terminal for over 3 weeks.

When I placed my order, the salesperson told me to expect about one month. Scheduling, consolidating other shipments, temporary holds, etc. Thirty days and then a bit more for any dealer prep. Early to mid-June is realistic, but yes, do not make plans.

I'm curious to know what is Ford's algorithm in determining build dates. I ordered an Atlas Blue GT, Black Accent, 301A, Active Exhaust on 2/19 and Ford says its unscheduled - clean. I see orders placed after mine and already have build dates (Congrats!) then others who ordered way before me that are also still waiting for a build date.

If I don't have a build date by mid April, I'll like walk away from my $2k deposit, honestly.

I see almost no orders after mid-February scheduled. Don’t know the whys and why inits, but hoping for my late Feb order to be built soon. Now thinking/hoping June for July delivery!! Must be something on the older orders not scheduled that we don’t see. Sad for sure.

And frustrating for sure. Maybe someone has knowledge of the production plant but I would suspect similar builds would be grouped together.

I think Ford use Dominion Voting Machines to do the scheduling.

Still no build scheduled for me. Mach1 (non PP) Mischievous Purple. Confirmation on 12/13 as last update. I do appreciate dealer let me know back then that they honestly expected 6 months. Think their estimate will end up being fairly accurate. Still seeing some November orders unscheduled on here.

Everything else aside, man a 2k deposit is a little bit ridiculous, especially it it’s non refundable. I only had to put down $500 and it’s fully refundable. Salesman told me they didn’t care because it’d mean an extra allocation for them to sell anyway.

Got my scheduled production date of Week of May 9th. Wish it was sooner as the rest of everyone, but definitely hoping on the early June timeframe of delivery.

A bit of an update. I did the Ford Chat thing, and they confirmed my build date. As of today...the link Ford sent is still showing an error. The gentleman I chatted with commented that the order tracking goes down sometimes...
