That is what we are going to do. Sorry I left out the ceramic coating. I did the PPF and ceramic to my GT350. Course that is white and pretty easy to keep clean
The PPF is really visible on a dark color car. Just saying.

Really?? Not on my cars. People can never believe I have PPF on them (two are black and one is Kona Blue).
Maybe because mine isn't completely covered and there's a line where you can see where it ends. Also mine isn't garaged so maybe the daily sun exposure.

Properly done PPF will not have visible edges. A good installer will tuck them all behind the panels and use the biggest pieces possible. I highly recomened the Cermaic coat on top of the PPF as well. My GT350R has the whole front clip, roof, rockers, and spoiler in PPF (stripes in stealth PPF to maintain the flat black) and the seams are nearly invisible. Whole car is done with Modesta ceramic coat. My 500 CFTP will get the same treatment

Pretty sure Tony was referring to the horizontal edge of film as in a partial hood or roof filming, not the outer edges.

I do agree with those who think film is more noticeable on dark colors, however.

When the PPF only goes half way up the hood... you'll see the edge. But yes, you're correct if it's a full wrap you won't see it.

Financial limitations sometimes prevent a full wrap and only the parts that are exposed to highway pebbles and such are covered.

Exactly... In fairness to the OP, he should know this is high quality film after 9 months of car washes and sun, not garaged...and dirty. Granted, the OP will surely garage and most likely full wrap his car. But PPF isn't a painted on clear coat. Regardless of how dindgy the film gets, it serves its purpose. When I pull this off, the paint will be like new. Also this partial hood was done by me for peanuts. A full wrap is 💵💵💲💲💰💰 because it's much more difficult and uses much more material. I like keeping as much of my money as possible when it comes to working on my vehicles.

I have only seen that sort of cloudiness on a black car where the surface wasn't prepped right. Once they removed it, prepped it correctly, and replaced it, it is/was crystal clear. But my cars do not generally live outside so that might be the difference.

Probably a little of both. Trucks get really beat up on highway from road debris because the nose and grill is so tall and flat. But I can shamelessly admit, the surface prep was mediocre at best. Regardless, it's protected.

Not a scratch in the paint. Let yours sit in the sun for a year. It happens. But for $50 bucks and an hour or so of time, it will look perfect again... for about 6 months.

Not polished or coated yet. IT's such a great color.

I wonder if that PPF could be polished?
