Good find, love the GB stripes on the Oxford White. Who was it that posted the pics?

Shelby looks badass no doubt. But the Mach 1 lines are just perfect, especially the HP package. Is it me or does the Mach 1 have a pissed off look lol No wonder people move away from me as I get behind them.

I think it’s the S550 headlights. They all have that angry look to them. Love it!

@MAGS1, was it you that posted a picture with a white 500 that had GB stripes? That was a good looking combo. Sorry to derail this thread, but if I don't ask the question when I think of it, its lost...lol.
i found these photos in the "Mustangs parking next to Mustangs" photo thread...

Man I'm really forgetting cuz I thought EG was only '23 but I think it was a super late '22 addition?
Eruption Green was supposed to be a 2022 ONLY color, planned for late release in April 2022, but when the extended the Mach1 into 2023 (The M1 was planned for a two year run only) because they couldn't build enough to fill orders due to covid related shortages. Sometime in the early fall, right before the 2023's were starting to be produced, they announced all the 2022 colors would be continued for the 1/2 year run of 2023 model Mustangs. EG and a couple others were not on the original 2023 color list Ford published in the summer of 2022.

I think Ford made more EG Mustangs in 2023 than in 2022, as the color got popular after people saw it in person.

The photo of you car makes me wonder if I should worry less about finding a HP car, and use the savings to buy some aftermarket wheels! Did you ditch your HP wheels just for color, or to go to a "square" setup? I love your hood as well: the GT hood is the only thing I don't like about the M1.

There is NO difference between an HP or non HP. It’s just a choice of whether or not you want the additional bolt ons, leave it alone or want to choose your own. The car itself is identical. That being said, find the nicest one you can afford and enjoy.
For me, I didn’t particularly like the huge rear spoiler, (If it came with the GT350 spoiler I might have changed my mind) I’d destroy the extra front splitter with the speed bumps in my neighborhood and I didn’t want the extra cost of tire replacement both due to size or reduced longevity of the cup 2 especially since I was happy with my PP1 PS4S on my 2016.
So, for me, I may one day get the front and rear fender trim from the HP and that’ll be it.

It’s almost shocking to see such true and accurate words actually spoken on this subject! Especially accurate if you’re not gonna put the car to heavy track rotation.

gorditas, if you follow your own inclination in your post #82 above you’ll have a lot easier time finding a car, probably pay less when you do and likely never know the difference unless you really like the HP rear spoiler and you enjoy scraping the chin splitter more frequently. Plus, you can save a little $ by not having to get the obligatory ā€œHPā€ tattoo.

Isn’t the HP a bit more than external pieces for aero and grip? I thought it also had adjustable cambers, thicker sway bars/struts, and a dedicated magneride setup. Like a R- version of the normal Mach1.

It’s like a (bolt on) steeda kit with camber plates springs and rear bar minus the shocks and struts which are the same. The bar and spring swap is solely to optimize for the larger mass and force of the bigger tires and wheels. The magnaride adjusts itself to the HP parts.

I'm mainly after the wheels and fender treatment. At sticker prices, the cost difference was huge, with an almost immediate need for new tires to boot: on the used market, it is often smaller than what the cost of the parts would be. I don't really care about whatever imagined panache there might be about having a "real" HP car. I'm buying what someone else ordered, but let them take the depreciation hit. But when you are looking at dozens of cars nationwide online, on multiple websites, the HP cars catch my eye first.

The HP pack is fun because it makes the car grip like nothing I’ve ever felt before. In truth though, I’d never drive it in such a way to take advantage of it. Not to mention, I have a real problem paying for brand new tires, cup 2 or otherwise that come bald before I even drive them.

I wonder how many Mach 1 owners drive the Mach 1 even close to what it is capable of?

True supposition, on the street anyway.

Sometimes when I think Iā€˜m really pushing it hard and I’m kinda proud of myself, I later get to wondering if maybe I just ran out of cojones before the car ran out of grip.

Whichever the case I know I’ve never been able to get the car out of shape in a curve, discounting stupidity or wet leaves. And I’ve tried hard. Bone stock non-HP M1s with tires @ 35-37 PSI cold. Yet impeccable manners and totally predictable! I don’t see how you could ask more from any car.
