How are the Pirelli's that come on the 2024 GT with the 19" premium wheels? Are they pretty descent for daily driver use and the occasional mountain run? It doesn't look like an A/S. Looks more like a summer/performance tire. Thoughts? They're no PS4 I'm sure, but they can't be bad. Looking to pick up a set of factory take-offs with brand new tires, ready to roll. Gonna put them on a S197 daily driver car.

I’ve heard they’re better than the version used on S550. They’re 255’s too, so at least a little wider. Keep an out eye too, I’ve seen GT Premium’s new on the lot on 19’s with Continental all seasons on them and not Pirelli. So maybe you can find a set of takeoffs that are Conti and not Pirelli.

I had a set of the summer version on my 2022 PP car when I bought it. 255/275. They weren't "terrible" but not the best for sure.... I did upgrade pretty fast though :)

OK, here is the deal on the P-Zero all seasons.

I had a set on my work car, a 2020 EB coupe with the Pony package and 255/40/19's. 29K on the car when I acquired it.

For.the first 15k miles or so, they were fine for a DD. Pretty good in wet weather and good resistance to hydroplaning. Decent off the line traction with a braked torque launch as well. After 15K they got LOUD and became less resistant to highway speed (60-80mph) hydroplaning with puddles. At 23k miles, I couldn't stand the noise and lack of wet weather daily life of S.Florida rain. Off they went to a set of Bridgestone Potenza's.

I would not choose this tire as a replacement for anything.

I agree. Same as my experience on my 2022. In fact, they still had tread remaining but I replaced them at 24k miles.

These are the ones...

I am buying a brand new set of take-offs (this was in the original post)255/275/40's., and these are just the tires coming with the wheels. No, not a tire I would traditionally go to if buying tires, but just trying to get a feel for what I'm getting since I'm getting them anyways. As I originally stated, it does not look like an A/S. Thanks for the links Ira, but looks like it's neither one of those as well.

I guess I'll find out how they are, cause I'm most likely getting them, and since I'm getting brand new tires by default, gonna run them for a little while anyways, lol. They can't be thaaaat bad for a dd. Now that I think about it, it looks just like the Pirelli's that came on my 2016 Focus ST. Ran those for a while and had zero issues.

@Bikeman315, unless I'm just completely overlooking something in the details, it certainly looks like the two links you posted were to the same tire.

Those are performance pack size tires and performance pack wheels, so I’m assuming off a performance pack car. If that’s the case, they would likely be summer tires. I don’t have experience with Pirelli summer tires

@galaxy these are the OEM tires on the S650 performance pack cars so those do appear to be summer tires. Again, no experience with Pirelli summer tires, but under 40-45F, summer tires generally suck

Two different tires. I have the older ones on on my ‘19 GT/CS. Just over 16k easy miles and they are shot. Noisy as heck and not comfortable to drive on. Replacing next month with the best all season on the market, Michelin Pilot AS4. I never scrimp on tires.

PIRELLI P ZERO AS PLUS 3 - this is the current one.
PIRELLI P ZERO NERO ALL SEASON - These are the old ones that I currently have.

There are what I am getting…

I understand the current ones are significantly better than the older ones. If these are off a S650 you will be fine. But what Mark said is 100% true. Even experienced drivers find summer tires can be a handful is cold and rainy weather.

My summer tires come off once temps are consistently below 45F and don’t go back on until the forecast is consistently above 45F in the daytime. You can drive on them in lower temps but it can get a bit squirrelly.

The PZ4’s are probably decent but Michelin and Continental rule the roost as far as all seasons and summers go IMO.

Very good as daily and a lower temp threshold drove some on wet slush roads on test drive and they were fine....way better than expected.
