Vehicle(s)
1965 Ford Galaxy 500 convertible
Chassis number N0796 w/ 8.2 miles at delivery. Spent about 35 minutes going over some things at the dealer and it appears that the build quality on initial inspection is pretty good. The only real alignment issue is the trunk center section sits higher than the tail light on the left side ever so slightly. No bolts on the panels under the hood were touched up or anything. No scuffs on wheels or runs in the paint that I could see in light. Car is still dirty and will not be cleaned by the dealer. No frozen hood pins, hoses are where they should be around the supercharger and under the intake, acceptable ford panel gaps and alignment on the doors etc.

Awesome looking car. Had the HE not been an option for this year, your color/stripe combo was my choice.

I think mine is Chad R. Wolnock Sr. althought I can't really read the signature.

It cheapens it for you? Don't let it. I believe history will show they got it wrong in 66/67 and this new version is the correct color for a Brittany Blue GT500.

Case in point... if you were to teleport an S550 GT500 painted in M7401 BB to 1964, just before the release of the first mustang, and ask people which car they like better, I'm guessing they unanimously choose the M7401 car over the M1624 car. 😉😁

People, myself included, often reflect on history with rose colored glasses. This new color/car is the right one. And in 55 years, the next generation will surely be having this same silly conversation.
Haha, well I hope you are right for those of you getting one. Personally, I prefer the 66/67 from photos but I would have been ecstatic to get one, don't get me wrong.

I'm an engineer, and when I see re-use of a former paint code on a special edition that has simply been renamed to generate nostolgia, I have to start ragging on the marketing guys. It's required as part of the job description :)

If you're a Mustang guy and you got the Heritage Edition because it was a nice tie-in with the 55th anniversary of the original GT500 then it really shouldn't cheapen anything. It should be an even better relation to the history of the 1967 GT500. In 1967 Lincoln had Huron Blue Metallic (12843) and in 1967 Ford had Brittany Blue (12843) and were the same colors. To have Ford come back in and use Chroma as the same color as Brittany Blue, to me that ties back into the heritage aspect of the car and makes it even cooler than just saying that it is the same color as the original Brittany Blue. Also fun fact, 1967 was the only year that Brittany Blue was used on the Shelby GT cars. In 1968, Brittany Blue Q Code became Medium Blue Metallic Q Code. Also, if you look at my picture on the previous page with the die-cast GT350, you can see how close the paint chip on the Huron Blue is to the 2022 Brittany Blue. I don't know if you have seen a Heritage Edition in person or if you have been able to spend some time around one in different lights, but they look like both paint color chips in different light.
