They made ~808 GT350 Heritage Edition cars in 2020 with ~280 being R's (basically a CFTP GT350). I think there were only about ~2500 GT350's produced in 2020 so about a third were HE cars. I have read that they were supposed to build 1965 HE cars in 2020 with 25-35% being R models (Production numbers were cut because of Covid). The GT350R HE has doubled in value in the auctions and is very sought after. It appears Ford is following the same concept with the GT500 HE. About 35% of all GT500's will be HE with 25-35% of those with the CFTP. I am only speculating based on what I have read in other articles. With production going on until Nov 2022 just on 2023 Ford Mustang Order Banks Open Up This September (fordauthority.com) I think you will see about 2000 GT500 HE models built with around 500 or so CFTP out of a total of 5500-7000 GT500's produced.

That seems pretty high. You think they'll build MORE than each of the last 2 years?
FYI, 1150th GT500 rolled off the assembly line yesterday. First few were built mid-March. Given they did have a bunch of weeks with the plant down, but there are at least 2 scheduled down weeks in July. I'll be surprised if they build more than 3000. I would expect "limited edition" HE's would be significantly less than your estimate....Just my two cents...

Yea there's no fuckin way they make 7k or even 5k 500's this year.

Less than 5k in both I believe, with 2020 getting closer. Think 21s were around 4.5k. Either way, I don't see any way in todays current world climate that production will surpass those years, imo.

Good post except for the assumption of the numbers. That’s about 2000-4000 more units than there will be in the ‘22 fleet.

More interesting is that there are four variants of HE 500’s: base vinyl HE, base painted HE, CFTP vinyl, and CFTP paint.

I suspect you will see around 600 or less total HE cars of all variants.

If chassis number is an indicator of production numbers I own 2021 GT500 3987 so they made at least 4000 in 2021.

Chassis # is the production number. @Dharri21 , what is your blend date on your sticker? I would guess it was November?

5823 highest 2020 chassis number posted & story was done on that being last of the model year
4250 highest 2021 chassis number I've seen posted (although I think someone may have said a higher # somewhere but I can't recall)

My 2022 HE CFTP vinyl stripes is built, finished Monday 06/13/2022. I will give the chassis number when it shows up sometime next month. I assume it will take that long to get here to HTX.

Those were closer to the numbers I have seen. Remember in 2020 the plants were down for months for Covid and ventilator production.
