Hi all

Proud new owner in the uk of a ‘22 GT convertible auto.

I only intend to use the car for long crousing in Europe and fun blasts but no track or drag use.

I have been wondering if I even need to upgrade any IRS / subframe parts with Steeda parts.

Watching the videos it seems the stock set up leaves something to be desired and Zsteeda parts will be an improvement but what exactly would be useful for type of driving I’m intending to use the car for?

I don’t want to drop of firm up the suspension and don’t want to void any warranties.

thanks in advance!

IRS alignment bushings and stiffer sub frame bushings is really all you need for a daily driver. Don’t waste your time with subframe bracing, the bushings will do wonders for you.

Braces and sway bars for street plus better tires and wheels. could do exhaust, intake, tune, etc for a little more power and better drivability with the A10.
It’s a convertible so you can’t use it on track at least in US. But that would def help. See how it handles as is and get used to it. And then upgrade as needed.
First thing I did was wheels and tires. That made a huge difference in drivability. More grip and less weight

9 speaker car or sub in trunk.

Looks like you have all the chassis bracing but worth it to check if you have floor plan bracing.

Don't really need anything other than upgraded rear shocks Bilstein B6 unless plan on accelerating hard frequently in which case check Steeda stop hop.

Lighter wheels are always a win.

Definitely need a windblocker and full PPF. The front end and quarter panels get trashed with normal road dust blasting affect.

Upgrade sound to sound deadening everywhere, Audison 8 channel DSP amp, 500W @4 ohm mono sub amp, and Upgraded speakers every where.

You should always do an alignment whenever you mess with the IRS. It’s not a hard job, but kind of a pain in the butt to get the pieces seated correctly.
I’m being offered as follows:

what do yuu think?

OK , here are the parts that we / Steeda recommend to get you going

Steeda Mustang IRS Subframe Alignment Kit 2015 - 2024+ × 1 £61.67

555-4438 IRS Alignment Bushes

Steeda Mustang IRS Subframe Bushing Support System 2015 - 2024+ × 1 £174.17

555-4437 IRS Subframe Support Bushes

Steeda Mustang Ultra-lite Jacking Rails 2015+ in 2024+ × 1 £240.83

555-5207 – Convertible

Steeda S550 Mustang Ultralite 2-Point G-Trac Brace × 1 £140.83

2015+ GT

Steeda S550 Mustang Strut Tower Brace × 1 £215.83

Intsallation costs £225.00

All prices are + VAT , all pieces are in stock so we can get them here in time for Friday install if you wish

Total inc VAT would be £1270.00

You could add springs as well if you wanted to give a lower more sporty feel to the car but Steeda suggest the above as a minimum regardless as to whether you springs or not at this stage

Let me know what you think Paul

The jacking rails aren’t needed unless you’re doing your own maintenance and have a jack or jack stands….they offer no appreciable stiffening to the car. If you don’t have a stock strut tower brace then yes you may want to consider one. The two point brace is meh in my opinion…not really needed for street use and since it’s a convertible you aren’t gonna be throwing it into high g corners.

If you're just doing typical street driving, even somewhat spirited, the car is already pretty good from the factory. For regular Grand Touring use, I think I'd leave it alone. At the very least, drive it for a while first and see what you think.

BTW, you'll probably get better feedback in the general S550 section. This is the GT350 section.

Ive got a 22 auto gt convertible…. Still under warranty so i opted for ford track handling pack - not to do with the irs but it should imprive handling and since its ford parts, installed by ford it should not void the warranty…
I also upgraded the b&o speakers and sub to improve sound… which is really lacking in these cars…
Great improvement in sound… handling pack scheduled to be installed in a few weeks
