Hey guys,

Just picked up a 21 GT PP1 6MT for my new track car, I have pads on order, but until they arrive I have one, maybe 2 events i'll need to do on the stock pads, does anyone know what they are rated for temp wise? I found the rating on the stock fluid online (494f- already replaced with RBF 660) but cannot find the pads.

For example, the pads I usually run "has a broad temperature range that begins at 118°F and a fade resistance is in excess of 1475°F"

Not yet. I've owned the car for about a week, hence why i'm trying to figure out a temporary solution until parts arrive.

The stock PP pads are actually pretty awesome...I've been on the track with them and stock fluid and didn't have an issue. It was diff and oil temp I had to watch out for. When it comes to time to replace the pads, I will probably go to Ford for replacements.

The stock PP pads survived, but they were inadequate. After 5 hard laps they would really start to go downhill. Boiled the RBF600 after a 30 min session chasing a much faster car (Mclaren 570S) so that was the end of my day. Rear diff overheated numerous times, and engine oil overheated multiple times as well. Pretty bad showing for what ford claims the car offers...

I will say the pads did dramatically better than expected. I'm going to pull them wednesday and see how they look.

Noob question but; how did you know the oil and diff overheated?

How will you rectify this for the next outing?

Should probably have asked in the track forum for a faster answer, but for what it's worth, the stock pads are Ferodo DS2500:
https://www.ferodoracing.com/products/car-racing/racing-brake-pads/ds2500/

Have seen some say the DS2500 Ford are selling is not identical to the one you get if you buy elsewhere, and that the compound Ford gets from Ferodo is a bit better, but I have no idea if that's correct or not.

The solution is a $2500 cooler that adds 4 failure points, huge complexity, and weight.

I'm going to try a higher capacity finned cover, and better fluid and see. If anyone has suggestions for a good finned cover, i'm all ears.
