I’m in the middle of washing my car and I just noticed water in the back right headliner, and some that had dripped down into the passenger rear seat area. I did not use high-pressure water. I used hose pressure water on the car. I’m assuming this is probably a bad rear window seal. Anyone have this happen?

Thankfully, still under warranty for a few months

Thanks !

I'm not the expert and water can travel strange ways, but..........based on the picture of the headliner, I would guess it is leaking around the antenna base and the cut-out in the roof. The antenna is held down by a simple stud and washer/ nut under the headliner.

I have read about the third brake light being the culprit for rear window leaks. Hope you find it because that sucks.
yeah, I came out of nowhere. I baby this car so I am surprised. Thankfully it is under full warranty until December. So I’m gonna make them fix it.

I’ve had similar issue’s with the cab lights on both my service trucks. One was a 19/450 and my current 20/550. The screw holes didn’t seal well with the gasket material that’s used. Interestingly, my 22/450 Platinum personal truck has had zero issue’s with this. Ford did change the way the seals are on that truck. I would push for the headliner to be replaced as well. Water damage(stains)has a nasty habit of popping up down the road even when there not present initially.

Yes i agree . I could see the headliner potentially coming apart from the moisture.

I'll never understand that.....you buy a high performance vehicle that was engineered to drive high speeds and turn at the track....use it for that.

No , I drive it as it is intended. I just meant I take care of it and I don’t beat on it

I had the same exact issue on my 2021 in my profile picture.

It’s my daily. I took it to the car wash. My gf said she think it’s leaking … I’m like nah no way

She keeps saying it, so I reach back with my hand and lo and behold it’s true.

fixed under warranty

I also had engine failure at 7k miles, so got a brand new engine and supercharger. My car is a 2021 with a 2022 engine. I also had a transmission leak at like 20k ish miles. Also fixed under warranty. Then my entire pulley assembly broke around 22k miles.

Seems I’ll have a brand new GT500 by the time warranty runs out … luckily I got extended warranty to like 70k miles or whatever

I finally got around to dropping my car off. Ford says the leak is coming from around the rear brake light at the top of the window. They are going to replace that brake light as well as put in a new headliner under warranty.
