Looks like its a go from the UAW. Dodge(Fiat) is starting May 18th. Ford has not released a start date.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/uaw-paves-way-u-auto-160356977.html
FCA said as it reported its first-quarter results that it expected to restart its North American operations on May 18. That doesn't sound like a solid, for sure date.

Ford had expected to restart on the May 18th and now they will be lucky to start on May 26th because of the Mexican lock down. You can't make cars without the parts and the other car makers are in the same boat, they get a lot of their parts from Mexico.

Certainly they must have a stock pile of parts to complete XXX number of cars. Wonder what that number is

Sounds like the 2020 CFTP cars will be rare by the way things are going.

Hi Tom,
I agree that the CFTP cars will rare. I hope there are enough part in the factory to finish my car. Any further delays will cost me extra time and money sinice i have to go to Japan soon. Is your car sitting In production or is it soon to be produced?

I don't think you have to worry about your car, as far as parts are concerned. You don't make it into the body shop if there are not enough parts to build your car.

This is the article that you posted earlier and it has the same time and date stamp as the one listed above. It paints a slightly different view.
US auto industry preps for restart — and it all depends on Mexico
Yeah, I read this and it might just be wishful thinking on my part.

"But the underlying buzz across the U.S. auto industry is that the Mexican government has indicated that if the U.S. and Canada are going to reopen, it will allow the automotive industry in Mexico to reopen. At least that's what everyone believes will be the case, provided the coronavirus pandemic doesn't worsen south of the border."

Just got an updated build date from 6/9 to 7/13. Let's hope there are no more push back dates for the restart.
Are you interested in getting on the list?
