I don't think anything like the LT5 is on the Caddy roadmap, they seem to be all in on the smaller displacement TT V8s (and that's a ton of HP for that product line given the demographics of their buyers). They can offset the price by making the LT5 available in multiple vehicles. I'd put them in cadillac sedans and their SUVs. Redesign the Silverado and bring back their 454 SS, powered by lt5 as well.
Ball is in GMs court now. Sucks that they are killing the brand again. This might bring stagnant improvement to the mustang line.
LT5 in a full sized truck sounds awesome
Yeah, that's in the ballpark of what I was saying, though I started with the base ZL1 and added more - the 1LE is probably more like what a "base" LT5 powered Camaro would be like (though there's still the "livability" aspect of the suspension setup).I do believe it will end up being $10K more than the current ZL1 1LE... so probably $79-$82K is realistic. Look, they can't sell the current one... it won't make sense... but the motor is developed.. the car has more cooling than the corvette already... so I think they can do it for $5K or so more... and charge $10K or more... we'll see. ;)
Pure financial assessment, no way, __but__ if they want to follow the enthusiasts in the company, do something cool, create a killer "halo" Camaro, respond to the GT500 ... maybe.
