My wife has a 2015 XLT. She loves it. I am not crazy about it, but it isn't bad. The 2020 is a whole new vehicle. It is RWD based rather than FWD. I think it is 6-8 inches longer, which also resulted in it's towing capacity going up something like 1000lbs. I have a paid for 2013 F-150, her Explorer, and the vert. I would LOVE to trade hers in on 2020 Explorer, but in spite of the higher towing capacity, it isn't enough for our boat. May trade both the truck and her explorer on a new Expedition, which can tow the boat.

I really dig that 2020 Explorer, though!

The overall length is about a half inch from the previous gen (11-19) but the wheelbase grew by 6 inches. The old was 113" and the 2020 is 119" For there to be a dramatic increase in towing capacity they would have to build it on a full frame like the trucks have. Explorers haven't had a frame since 2010, they have been unibody ever since. just keep the truck to haul your boat and trade the 15 for a 2020 explorer and enjoy life.

That's it. Wheelbase, not length. Increase in towing capacity is 12% though, according to ford. I guess that is about 700 lbs. Not insignificant. But not enough either.

The Edge ST's problem has nothing to do with the 2.7L engine and all to do with the very blah suspension & chassis tuning for an "ST" product. Just keep calling it "Sport" if you're not going to do anything but put a more powerful engine in.
I just bought a 2019 Ford Edge ST. What a great machine! Very fast and nimble handling even though it weights 4,500 lbs.

You know I just can't leave things alone...just installed my 3" quad tips to replace the fake looking openings attached to the lower valance.
