Lol. I removed the entire bypass line with nitrous jet before install. I’ve never used any jet.

On that can definitely cause surging I had to find my own orifice combo for driving style and my 3.15 28 tire ratio A10...
Yea it will surge for sure no pill, 2650tvs comes on SO quick and efficient....just my experience for your data bank....just trying to help...even with a Lund tune I run some bypass...

The surging is when out of boost during steady throttle on the highway or very light acceleration. All during times when the bypass is still open. WOT things are great, but that’s the only place the tune is ok.

Mine will do this, too, but when cruising steady state on highway...press down on gas pedal just enough and it will kind of oscillate. May have something to do with restrictor pill?

Logging with a HPtuners MPVi2 I found with no pill it was going into low boost INSANELY low into the rpm with WAY less throttle than you would think ( or less than I would have guessed). Now not steady stage on a straight road but I've been going along logging and hit a rolling hill cruise and it go to low boost...LOL it comes in nuts fast. Like half throttle by 1900 rpm you can be making 4psi..but I seen 2psi a LOT then bouncing just in and out of boost which on my car caused surging and also kinda got me an oscillation where I couldnt drive it smoothly...I tried many sized but landed in .035...however just pop the stock .015 in and see if that smooths it all out a lot I'd bet it does...
Lund wanted me to keep one in....except for track...

I’m using the wiring harness that came with the EB Stage 2 kit. TB pins are good. I also clamped both ends of vacuum line before install. After reloading the tune, the throttle response is much better, but still not what I would expect from a PD blower. No more dead spot in the pedal travel, but it’s still not very responsive until about 90% pedal travel.
I doknow that when pedal travel hits 87%, the computer programing interprets to mean wide open throttle. This is how the EB tunes are smog legal. Some front loading on the pedal for great throttle response, not much midway down, and then...wham! It has taken me a while to get used to this and you know what to do to get wide open throttle power just not very linear but once it is wide-open throttle it goes like stink .

Yes mine did too but I ordered .020-.050 jets ( thinking I'd have some for different tires and street vs drag) for me I found .035 real nice for the stock 93 tune even a .025....
Thing is just like on my logs now with the stock 0.015 in after you let off it takes approximately almost a second for the bypass to open so it works both directions....that's why I started playing with getting a balance the more you delay it closing with a pill the more delayed it will be closing too...so you can do say 30% tps and dip low boost say 2psi and the pill kinda helps hold how smoothly that comes in but also out aka surging during transitions....
It would be simple to try I'm not bullish on it I just spent many an hour and found it surged with open bypass a LOT and then for my combo and driving style landed on .035 I'm pretty sure its even in there custom tuned street driving. At track obviously you want it max boost on leave with no stall assuming you can hook it all...lol....
Just giving my experience the car drove horrible with it out on street daily...didnt hit as hard as I would like on the stock ones and i found a good compromise on the .035 ( it may he .030 its been so long I didnt notice much of any difference past .050 than open )

Part of that too is torque demand so the trans line pressures and lambda targets realize it's in WOT....
Just log commanded throttle vs thr_act just remember this second one is not %open but throttle angle degrees....usually tops at 85%
You can logged commanded aka tps percent vs throttle actual which is the blade open degrees to get a feel for how the tune is trying to modulate torque demand.....

What does Whipple and others do with their bypass strategy? Do they also use a pill?

I may try a different pill after a custom tune, if the boost hits too hard. My problem with surging is all while the bypass is open and the fact that it takes 90% pedal travel to hit boost.

Mine didnt take remotely 90% pedal travel to hit boost I was 2-3psi by 30% no pill....hmm you may have an issue with your bypass...log your commanded vs actual.......
Custom still had me run a pill for surging literally lol...I was surprised at that too

They done have remotely this quick of response down low...they would be 100ftlbs down at 2500rpm maybe more...bigger rotors turning slower on whipple...it damn near pulls like a centri...where the EB dyno chart is straight up on torque....
It literally just comes in nuts fast but it has higher rotor speed to carry that up in rpms so giving them different manners...

Absolutely! I’m fed up trying to troubleshoot this garbage. Car is literally no fun to drive right now. My centri car was way more fun. Hoping the custom tune gets me to enjoy it.

Just drove the car with the stock pill back in. It did make the transition to boost smoother, but boost still doesn't hit until pretty far into the pedal travel, Didn't get a chance to see what it does during steady cruising or light acceleration, but I wouldn't think things would change with the bypass staying open,
