I have a 2020 Bullitt with kooks catted headers and Corsa Extreme cat back active exhaust.

1. Car starts in “normal” mode like it used to but valve springs are loose (due to not being trained and not knowing correct positioning) exhaust rattles

2. when switching modes from normal to either sport or track mode I occasionally get pop up error message on dash “exhaust mode not available in mode” and it switches back to normal mode and rattles and when switching back to track mode it switches right back to normal.

3. other times it just rattles and when I switch to track mode it does not rattle and it will stay in track and I can drive like normal and not hear it. I don’t mind this but occasionally I would like to put it in quiet or normal to keep the volume down in the subdivision or when driving alone side cops.

I attempted a “learning protocol” I found on another thread on this forum. Was a 20 min process and I attempted it twice.

when I called Ford asking if they can do a learning procedure for valves every dealer seemed confused and didn’t understand what I was asking.

does anyone know a learning protocol that works to retrain the valve positioning or know any method to correct this issue. It is very annoying having a “high quality” exhaust that is so expensive and sounds like garbage.

I had this issue earlier. Try swapping the valve motors to the opposite side.
You did this and it fixed your issue? Might give that a shot then, appreciate it!

Never heard of a learning process but know it's pretty common to install the motors wrong by not properly clocking the spring. The other common issue is the wiring to the motors gets pinched on the frame just above where the motors are mounted. Either of those things will cause the issue you're experiencing. I'd check both.

Any updates on this? Just got my corsa active exhaust installed and I’m having the same issue. Go to quiet or track mode and the valves open and close then stay in normal mode. Corsa is sending replacement tips and valves but doubt it’ll fix it

Yeah, turns out the spring inside my valves some how got miss seated, after removal and reinstall I have had no issues and computer relearned it’s self. All good now

Glad you got it figured out. It's typically either the spring issue you ran into or the wiring for the valve motor getting pinched on the chassis just above the valve motor.

I’m having the same exact issue with mine since Installed. Pretty sure it’s the spring seated wrong on the drivers side.

I have the Corsa Extreme exhaust on my 2018 GT350 and I have been experiencing "Exhaust mode not selectable" errors when starting from a cold-start. After the car warms up, the issues no longer occur and I can switch between all modes until the next time I go to cold-start.

I have had the mufflers out a couple of times trying to troubleshoot and I noticed that each time the valves are much harder to turn by hand vs the factory valves (factory takes one-finger of effort). The Corsa valves take a LOT of effort to turn by hand, and were much harder the 2nd time I checked the exhaust.

Corsa is sending me replacements, but I wanted to mention that this last time I took Copper anti-seize spray and lubricated the valves, which improved Now the car is no longer throwing errors. I can't speak to it being a long-term fix, but might assist anyone getting errors.

Important notes:
  1. I saw posts on this forum about how to reset the PCM by turning the car off, waiting 10 mins for it to sleep, etc. I really think that a battery disconnect and reconnect and/or a PCM module reset in Forscan will accomplish the same thing (if needed at all).
  2. The first time I serviced the actuators, I sprayed in Lithium grease the cleared the issue briefly. I think this was a mistake and the grease burned off, which actually made the valves harder to turn the second time around. I wouldn't spray anything in your valves that isn't high-temperature, such as copper anti-seize.
