Just noticed that the 2019 gt350 has a new /updated radiator support. I am thinking it might be for a hood latch that is also on the gt500.

Maybe a Ford performance part?

That’s exactly what it’s for. This is another reason why the 500 hood is worth waiting for

Yeah but for us 15-18 owners we have to replace the support and that is one expensive part.

It’s worth it if you want the hood.
About $950.00 core support
About $810.00 for the 350 hood.

Of course the 500 hood will be more money.

I like to disassemble things.
The same thing is likely to happen to the front bumper once GT500 production starts (and may have possibly already happened). The GT500 bumper is identical to the GT350 bumper except for one thing - it will come with an insert inside the aluminum extrusion that allows inserting a factory Ford tow hook. All you will have to do is locate it relative to the urethane bumper cover, trim a small hole, cover with a plug that you can pop in and out. Ford will only be using one bumper assembly, just as they are only using one grille opening reinforcement panel.

Nice find Niz. The 2020 GT500 has hood pins or latches are made by Quick -Latch.

The hook can be purchased at any Ford dealer. I was told it is the same that the Focus RS uses and likely the same one the current export Mustangs are already using. You just have to look and see if you have the insert. It will be on the passenger side, between the bolts that attach the bumper to the subframe rails. You may need to pull the bumper cover in order to see it.

Again, this is only for 2019 GT350's and the change may not occur until GT500 production begins if it hasn't already.

The insert method and location provides a much stronger anchor point than any aftermarket solution. The Ford hook isn't the prettiest either just as any factory hook isnt. It also uses a left hand thread.

Hey, at least the 2020 GT500 gets one.

They could have made the effort to make it official on the GT350 though and they chose not to. That is the continual disappointment I have with management at Ford. Especially when it has been available on export Mustangs for a few years now.
