Has this happened to you?

Car has E85 flex tune on E85.

On 1-2 shift car spins 305/35/19 Michelins pretty hard, then just gives up on 2-3 and engine shuts down to idle. This has happened a few times, and is severe enough to bark the tires (and toss me into the seatbelt) due to sudden deceleration at the top of 2nd gear (which, among other things, AIN’T good for it).

This might go better somewhere else, but since everyone’s always trolling this thread for information I figured people will at least look at it.

Edit: stability control was firm-toggled off. Also happens when traction Ctrl. Is soft toggled off. Has also occurred in track mode. Shift points are 7500-7700 RPM in drag mode. Don’t know precisely what redline is (Livernois tune). Does not occur if throttle is lifted slightly on 2-3 shift, but if I do that it shifts too early and spoils all the fun.

I would log it (if you can) and send back to Livernois. More times than not it is some limiter they are missing (forgetting to turn off).

Are you definitely on the Flex Tune and not the Race Tune? I ask because if you happened to load the Race Tune and the E85 is not really E85 that might cause the problem. The E85 race tune is more aggressive than the Flex Tune.

Ive had this happen stock at the track a few times. In my thread it was basically determined to be stability control

Thank you all. I will see if it happens again and verify that I am defeating traction control. Honestly, it's scary when it happens, which makes me reluctant to even try it, but I guess there's no other way to get the data.

Yes, it's definitely the flex, and not the race tune. Tuner reads fuel as "E77".

Mine happened and i hit the throttle 2 or 3 times before the car responded. It was pretty scary.

I tried it three times today back to back with stability control fully defeated. It happened the last two times out of the three.

I’ll try unplugging the stability control module under the hood. I will report back here

Sorry, but as stated, you will lose drag mode once you unplug it.

Just tried it and it cut out with the module unplugged. Drag mode was engaged.

Or at least it showed on the dash as being engaged, and I could tell because the throttle response is characteristically soft at easy throttle in that mode

Advice appreciated. Will call Livernois and see what they say
