Ford, Mazda and Volvo skipped Paris? Wow!! You think we are at the beginning of the end of Auto Shows as we know them?A lot of companies are doing this now. Instead of lining the pockets of the event/organizers, companies can host their own events off site during the same week or at a latter time. Happening a lot at CES, NAB, Comic Con, etc
The Auto Shows need to realize with social media now and it's reach, the returns on investment in auto show is fleeting. The shows will have to drop their cost of a vendor to be there if they don't want a mass exodus of car companies.Ford, Mazda and Volvo skipped Paris? Wow!! seriously? look at the front grills and foglights. nearly the same... get some glasses lol.And I see no similarities whatsoever. Wait wait, they both have wheels!
True. I've been noticing this in San Diego. I've been going non-stop to the SD auto show since 1994 and every year the show gets worse. I've been Audi fan since 1994 and every year it gets worse in the SD auto show. This last time Audi had like 7 cars only. Ford, GM and Chrysler group do have decent exhibitions. This is the reason I've been going to the LA auto show since 2007 when it became a major auto show. LA auto show is awesome. The Auto Shows need to realize with social media now and it's reach, the returns on investment in auto show is fleeting. What will most likely happen are the # of auto shows will disappear and a select few will remain as the go to events...then you'll have the car companies again attending those main ones.
There is little to no chance that any future EcoBoost V8 would be only a single turbo. Of course it would be twin turbocharged. And I know you like to over-complicate it but twin turbo IS the same as Bi-turbo... Just different nomenclature from different parts of the world.Let's keep pushing for an Ecoboost V8 because that is what all those special edition Raptors, Broncos, Lightnings and such will need.
The only thing missing from Ford's engine lineup is an Ecoboost V8. They need an Evoboost V8 first before they can go Twin or BiTurbo.
Wasn't there a specialist on the GT500 thread stating a Twin Turbo won't fit? A Parallel Twin Turbo that is...
If 800hp is the target, ask yourself what are Fords options?
A TT3.5? Just a little short... A SC 5.0? Not enough. SC CPC 5.2? Still, not enough and emissions. A parallel Twin Turbo won't fit and a single Twin scroll won't make over 750 without more displacement.
It has to be using either TWO separate turbos, a single Compound/Sequential Turbo or a large displacement, supercharged Coyote. Only way for OEM 750-800hp to be made.
Just as AMG and Audi have successfully engineered a new, Hot V BiTurbo setup, Ford will follow. I don't really think they need 800hp to destroy the Camaro. It's the Hellcat that they contend with on that measurement.
808hp from a Hot V BiTurbo. Has to be a reason they now have an A10 that can handle 800tq.
