I am not throwing a shot at the sales guy, I am throwing a shot at who ever decided you can require a signing up for a program to sell a car you cant even do a oil change on. Whats the point of the program??
Same thing happened to a lot of Z06 cars as well with the dry sump oil system. Tech's were screwing up the oil changes on those cars. (I'm assuming they never got trained or were trained "after the fact".)
So I agree with you.

The FPC would have been largely irrelevant the IMSA series win you are talking about since the motor was already governed.

I agree for many, numbers sell, there will always be magazine racers talking about their cars at the water cooler. There is also a large subsection of the market developing that the numbers are less important and the feel/sound/driving experience become paramount. Given how much performance you get these days, inching out incremental gains for the sake of it don't mean as much as they used you. When you have multiple 40-60k cars that can take down super cars that are just a few years old, then the numbers start to matter less for some. I am one of those people, I don't give two shits about the ZL1 if it means those numbers are aided by a 10spd auto and a super charger.

That was my only point, you said the 2018s will sit on lots because they aren't improved, in my opinion there are still plenty of buyers out there that are still game mainly due to uniqueness of the will car, even if it means they cant win the latest bench race.
The FPC is history and the race team proved it. Case closed. Jury decided it's faith. Used ones are in the $52/55k range. Now with another year production it's not good. They should have ended production. But that's above my pay grade.

I wish they would have dropped the CPC in there for 2018. More power...more ways to make power without destroying the engine, less vibes...etc... It would have been an overall winning way to go about it. Oh well..shoulda coulda woulda. Don't get me wrong I love the FPC but the CPC would have been a way to squeeze out power.
That's a mid cycle full redesign. The whole marketing of the car was around the engine. Releasing the 2018 with out it would make no sense.

We will see on making power but people are close to 500 whp on a Na engine with out opening it up I think that's incredible.

The race team never used the FPC in the first place, so what exactly does that prove? The FPC was in the street car and helped it sell like hot cakes, as did it being one of the most volumetrically efficient american V8 ever produced in volume. Another few thousand cars made next year really doesnt change anything

All of my friends that have 05/06s drive them. One guy I know races one of his. Hopefully these ones get driven. Be a sin not to.
They made over 4000 then, only about 400-500 will be made for these. Also the 05/06 were about $300k cheaper. So my guess, most if not all will be garage queens.

Yea, I've read the stats but if you have the cash to buy one of these you most likely have other high end rides and probably drive them. I'm sure plenty of people will tuck them away but I hope more drive them then not. Plus the 05/06 cars are bringing over 300k now so still not a cheap car.

Parts are getting hard too come by on these old GT's . Some people are hoarding and this will keep the cars off the road in the future. It's a simple engine but there's a lot of other one of a kind parts. Electrical nightmares.

Yea, I'm sure. Just a shame when they don't get driven. On a side note my 350 never gets driven but not because I don't want to. I just never had any time this summer and now it's away for the winter.

The multimatic cars had highly detuned voodoos. Mixing up the teams now, the new ones went back to CPC

Absolute BS ...those engines were close to stock as can be , catch cans only as far as we know. Only after a few wins did they add some extra pounds to the car. Bop
