I hope I'm not beating any dead horses here. I have an '18 GT with the standard (non-active) exhaust. Generally speaking, the sound is pleasing with no drone. What I would like is a very deep sound with no drone and no raspyness. Like some have stated, deep sound at idle, nice quiet cruising, and great sound at full throttle. What are ya'll running? :ford:

Seriously, Active Exhaust! I just upgraded from a 2017 Mustang GT Premium, to a 2018 Mustang GT Premium, with Performance Pack.

I only did this because after getting quotes for $2k-$3k for a new exhaust, air intake, etcetera, and the possibility of NOT getting the 'growl' I wanted.

Pricey, but, to me, worth it...

I have been happy with my setup. I currently am running mak cat deletes, magnaflow resonated x-pipe (key to no rasp and not too loud), and roush axle back. I also liked the sound with just the resonated x-pipe and roush ab, it was still a bit tame at full throttle. I hated when I first got the car and tried an h-pipe resonator delete with stock remaining exhaust. Very loud on start up and very raspy without any good volume at full throttle (basically the worst of everything). Good luck with your choice!

you could try just an axle back. as the resonator mid pipe is what i believe gives the mustang the sound. or you can try just doing a resonator delete with an H pipe with stock mufflers

I tried the h-pipe resonator delete on my car first and it sounded very raspy. I could not stand it and immediately ordered the resonated x-pipe. The axle back gave me the volume and deeper tone I was looking for. The cat deletes gave me much more volume (maybe too much for some).

How much difference, from a restriction standpoint, is there between the stock resonator (basically an H-Pipe) and the Magnaflow resonated x-pipe?

I'm not sure but it is both lighter and has a better internal design according to Magnaflow. I did not do it for power as most exhaust mods do not add much except for cat deletes and long tubes for NA cars but for sound that is not raspy or too loud.

Leave it alone. Best sounding factory non variable exhaust to date.
I agree. The stock exhaust is amazing. The perfect amount of sound to pleasure the ears while at the same time not driving around sounding like a douche.

I just put steeda's x pipe resonator delete on my 18 pp manual. For me it's perfect. I like the rasp of the x pipe. Snarly when on it but not nearly as loud as my borla s was on my 17. Absolutely no drone while driving. And it was only 124.00.
