Only one person as far as I know has done this with 100% functionality so far. A few others, including myself, are in the process. As of now everyone in the process have Sync 3. It *probably* will work without Sync 3 but I'd recommend doing that upgrade first since its less expensive then this mod and in my opinion, more useful.

Just noticed you're in StL. If there is any kind of meet I'd love to catch up and pick your brain about this a bit more.

I'm in the same boat as Yaculloan, with a brand new 2018 GT Premium PP, and hoping for an easy drop-in mod.

My guess is it is almost plug n' play. You'll have to change the as built data of the cluster but theres a small chance ford will configure it for you if you buy it brand new... They do require a VIN to order one. I could be wrong though.

PM sent to you reverend.

So bad news - Called the dealer today and he said Ford pushed back the SCCM and the expected date for release is now March 2nd. I want to get this installed! URRRGH!

Yup we are all screwed on that part. National backorder. You can install the dash still and enough works to make it enjoyable (tach, speedo, drive modes, tpms, avg fuel, trip A and B, navigation). There is a lot more that we will get when the new SCCM is in play and the heated wheel also if you go that route. Mine was ordered so long ago I was told that it may be in on the 14th from my last update but I’m not holding my breath. The LAST piece I’m waiting for.

I won't get the buttons until around then too probably. Can I use most features without the new buttons? The cluster and trim piece should come next week so you're right at least I can put it in the car.

As its gotten cold again here I keep finding myself wanting that heated steering wheel...I just don't want to spend the cash. Spending $1800 getting my roof replaced right now!

Ditto on the 14th. I cringe looking at new emails fearing one is going to tell me its gonna be delayed.

Probably a Chinese new year thing. They didn't get enough boards made in time and the board house is surely in china. Stupid Chinese new year always screws electronics up this time of the year.

Yes on those features working with your STOCK buttons and steering wheel. That is how I’m running right now. I’m not running the new steering wheel yet as there is no need especially since some controls are in different locations with that.
The heated steering wheel is definitely an extra cost especially since you have to buy a new airbag as the back side has changed plus the heated wheel module and you have to make a wire harness for it.
I actually have the steering wheel buttons but I won’t even need them because when you order the actual steering wheel it already comes with the buttons. One of those things you find out along the way. I’ll sell them at some point.

What exactly changed with the airbag?

I don't have a problem making the new wiring harness. With your help I'm sure you can tell me what pigtails I need to buy from Ford so I can solder them together. I assume thats how you did that since I'm not sure how else you would get the connectors.

I'll do the steering wheel in the fall probably when it starts to get cold again. Who knows though maybe I'll change my mind and do it next month :)

I'll install the cluster as soon as I get it then if it is usable somewhat with the stock steering wheel/buttons.

It’s just a slightly different design to the center of the 18 steering wheels. There is a separate part number for the 18 air bags. It sucks but it is what it is.
The new wiring harness isn’t difficult and mine is ready to go. I do have the part numbers and I’ll get that up in another post when I get this all rolling and confirm everything works.
No reason to not install the cluster and housing. You won’t have to deal with it when the SCCM comes in and you can enjoy what it does in the meantime.

Not sure if this was stated before but do all the drive modes work? Wondering what happens if you select drag mode.

Great! I'll probably make a harness for it as soon as you confirm its working.

Didn't P6CL get drag mode to work? I thought I saw it in one of his videos.

Yup I saw the video of him switching to that mode, but I'm wondering if it actually functions as advertised.
