I'll wait until seeing one in person before I solidify my opinion. With the photos I have seen, I am not a fan of the front end. I think a front quarter shot of the side looks way too Z4 for my tastes.

But, it might look a lot better in person or once the aftermarket gets a hold of it.

But I am excited about the new technology. The digital dash is something I really want in my car, and I think I will try to buy one as soon as I can find the part number. Hopefully I can get it working.

I am still bummed out the 15s did not get LED headlights.

Magnaride is cool, but I am not worried about that.

Linelock on the Ecoboost is cool, but again not that worried about it.

A real torsen in the EBPP is something that I am sad about. Not sad enough to buy one and put it in my car, but I think that was a good step.

I think its a step forward in most aspects.

I've always been more of a Mustang guy, but they lost me with the 2015. I just don't like the gaping catfish/whaleshark grill. I actually preferred the 2012 look. I've owned a 2006 GT, 2011 GT500, and just bought a 2017 Black Camaro 2SS Redline edition. For me, the 2018 doubled down on this look and I'm not a fan. I liked the way the GT350 seemed to have a slightly smaller grill and hoped they'd have went that way. But hopefully the next iteration brings me back.

I find the dual injection thing a bit gimmicky, it's really a complex solution to making horsepower that can be easily solved right out of Ford's existing parts bin for way less cash.
It isn't a gimmick. It is needed technology in the progression towards meeting modern CAFE and EPA standards. It isn't so much about making power as it is about reducing emissions and increasing fuel economy.

Actually many of us have been asking this for years. I was just a little hesitant of purchasing a first year engine and tranny change. On paper it has
many advantages in terms of increase in HP / TQ, lets see how well the new coyote engine responds to some tuning and aftermarket power adders.
I was really interested in the HP/TQ numbers from Ford, while its not as much as I had hoped its a good start.
I am sure Ford engineers left plenty on the table and we will be surprised once
these 2018 Mustangs get into the hands of experienced tuners. ;)

Keeping my current 2015. Modding it for eventual Time Trial use.

I don't see any big improvements in the 2018 to justify the increases in price. If I was buying a new car today, it would be a Camaro SS 1LE. It will be interesting to see how the PP2 will compare.

Then why is Ford pumping the increased hp/tq numbers and not that it's so clean and EPA friendly? Because nobody with a Mustang cares about clean, they just want power, that's why. Read the post below yours for example.

Justify it however you want, but as far as I'm concerned, it's gimmicky and doesn't make the car any more appealing to me.

Wouldn't even think about trading my '16. Just got it all setup the way I wanted it and only have 12k miles on it. Going to wait and see what '20 has to bring...

I love my ecoboost, but i was thinking about getting the V8. The 2017s are nice, but I really like the Kona blue for 2018.....then I seen the price increase over the 2017.... WTF.....I'll stick with my Ecoboost

This is the quandary I am having! While I prefer the 2018's over the 2017's and I really want a GT (automatic and PP), the price increase from 2017 to 2018 is not insignificant. Also with Ford running their "End-Of-Summer" special financing and cash back offer, a remaining 17 model begins to look better and better. As an example, there is a base 17 GT (Ruby Red, automatic, 3.55's and rear sensor) for $29K and a silver premium PP GT for $33K, both vehicle prices are before the available $2500.00 cash back offer or the available 1.9% APR for 60 months offer. Granted, the 18 GT offers both an improved engine and transmissions...but, are the improvements worth the price increase?

Like BrianXIX, if I purchase a 2018 Mustang, it will almost certainly be an EB Base 101A with PP and automatic transmission as the only options. With these options (even at Invoice Price), the 18 EB is still more expensive than the base 17 GT I referenced above...$30,594.00. I am going to wait until the new 18's are available to drive to make my final decision, because as I said, I (and I may indeed be in the minority) like the look of the 18's over the 15-17's. But, I may "kick myself" later for not picking up a 17 GT for a good price. Ahh, decisions, decisions, decisions!!!:mad:

I keep cars for 10 years - still driving my 06 GT. So $3000 price increase is $300 a year. I spend more than that on beer. I'll be getting an '18 and giving the 06 to my daughter. You only live once. Orange Fury and 10 speed auto worth it. X-plan and don't look back.

CAFE and EPA standards are all about not getting fined. Of course they pimp the hp numbers. That is what sells in 75% of vehicle. Only the hybrids and EV cars tend to sell based on low emissions and fuel economy. But also remember that final fuel economy numbers aren't released yet. Once they are, you can bet they will be showing them off. PFI is a dying technology. It is going the way of the carbeurator. PFI cannot deliver the needed mpg and emissions to meet the continuously tighter regulations.

More HP and TQ, more revs and better fuel economy doesn't appeal to you in any way? (along with the other improvements to the car)

It does to me! Bring on the gimmicks!:ford:

Mine's just over a year old with 14k on it and I usually keep cars a long time (still have the 04 F250). My next car will probably be the latest Z06 or whatever it is at that time.

Not getting rid of my '15 GT PP any time soon. I love everything about it and the mods keep making it better. The 10 speed auto is impressive but I'll wait and see how they perform in the real world and see what the tuners can get out of it. I honestly think I'll keep this mustang for at least a good 10 years modifying it as I go. My next vehicle in mind would be a Cherokee SRT or Charger SRT, something kinda fast but with room for more passengers and cargo.
