Would this work with an aftermarket system instead of the sync 3? would be upgrading from base radio to possibly the tesla style screen. Thanks for your input

Yes but the nav won't work in the cluster.

Do you know of a good thread like this for upgrading to the sync 3 system. want to see the benefits of that over the other aftermarket screens. thank you for the quick reply
I just did the sync 3 swap and the digital dash and it’s legit looks clean OEM and Sam has great customers support he helped me yesterday with my cruise control not working on a Sunday at 9am, I had actually bought a Tesla screen initially and ended up returning it as I wanted the digital screen to be fully functional it make the appearance of your car night and day that’s my opinion. Easy install for both sync 3 swap and digital dash

The instrument cluster will work with your old switches/sccm but you will not be able to access any of the menu’s to set custom gauges. You’ll only have trip/fuel economy/tire pressure.
So are you saying I won’t be able to do any customization of colors etc on the cluster?

Or is that only if I don’t order the new switches? I plan to get new switches and everything just want to make sure I’ll be able to navigate and change colors etc with no issues.

Thanks!

Thats only if you don't get the new switches and new SCCM. Everything will work if you get all the parts required.

Got my stuff today and all installed. Pony button not working but will have to wait until Monday to troubleshoot. Thanks to @breeves002 for everything!

Finally got the right part for the lower cruise control switch, now the last thing that doesn't work is the MyColor. I checked the BCMB codes and they are correct (the car has mycolor hardware), but I have extra lines that aren't covered anywhere else. Every code I find ends with 7B7-06-01. My BCMB has lines past that, 7B7-07(08, 09 and 10)-01. Any ideas? Everything else with the swap works, just can't figure out what I need to do to get MyColor to work.

Thats really weird... I've never heard of anyone having issues with my color equipped cars. It just works with how I program them. I'm not sure what to do without looking at it myself.

I can insert a screen shot of the forscan BCMB if that helps.

The BCMB shouldn't need reconfiguration. It should just work properly with the IPC.

Thats my guess. Like I said I've never seen there be an issue with my color before.

Here's a shot of what i'm looking at. My base data is on the left, forscan current IPC (with a few changes) on the right. Is it something past 720-07-02? I don't have any data for that section of the IPC. Everything currently works except MyColor still. If it's something that can't be fixed, I'll live. There are worse things to not have working.
