So I just recently noticed that the middle of my hood is slightly misaligned, probably 1/2 deeper than it should be. I noticed because I found these two markings underneath the hood, both on the exact same spots but opposite ends. The passenger side has paint removed however driver side has just a scuff.

Curious on what to do? I assume bringing it to the dealer but my case is a bit complicated. I had stripes put on and the hood is Xpel'd. So a new hood would not be ideal for me. Anything else they can do for me?

I'm thinking worst case I use touch-up paint to fix it. Then I can tape a small piece of microfiber-cloth down on each side to prevent it from happening again.

Thanks

Have you had anyone other than Ford take the hood off before? If not, then take it to the dealership to get it aligned correctly. Then tell them to fix it using touch-up paint. Since it's under the hood, I would not have them repaint any part of the hood.

Hood has never been taken off, whether for stripes or the Xpel. Thanks for the suggestion, that would definitely fix it. Although I think by them raising it 1/2 inch to fix the issue, some parts of the hood will now be higher than the 1/4 panels, not 100% sure will have to check when I leave work. That said, it would still be better than the damage it's causing now. Thanks

I would definitely have the dealer look at it and document it.
One thing you check yourself-make sure the hood latch parts are installed correctly, the hood can warp and flatten out if things aren't right. I had an issue with mine after the dealer replaced the hood.
Specifically, on the hood, look at the heavy gauge wire loop that clamps down into the latch. there are some alignment dimples stamped in the hood that it should align next to, not on top of...Mine was installed backwards, causing warping of the hood because that piece will sit offset and too far back and wreck the plastic piece next to the lower latch assembly (Radiator cover), hit a support, and warp the hood from the pressure.
