Hello. As the title says, I need an advice with dealing with 2 kinds of noises coming from under the hood. I've visited 2 different car mechanics, and neither was able to identify and fix the problem

My car is 2018 ecoboost premium AT with 15k miles on it. I own it for almost 3 months now. It is imported from States where it was hit in the rear bumper, so I had to replace that and rear lights. The rest of the car is basically in "new" condition

Now regarding the noises that bother me. The first noise I had for a while now, it is a high pitched squeaky sound I can hear when riding on a bumpy road. Is is audible from the inside with windows up, and it seems to be coming somewhere from under the hood in front of the passenger seat. It sounds like rubber shoes squaking on the laminated floor or something and is clearly related to the bumps on the road. It reacts on even the slightest bumps

A few weeks ago I had the car thoroughly checked by a car mechanic. He concluded that everything is fine, including suspension, brakes and engine bay. According to the mechanic, suspension and brakes are "definitely fine, checked 3 times, it is not a suspension". One thing car mechanic mentioned is that front suspension struts (not sure what is the right name, the stands inside suspension springs) were only slightly wet from the oil. He suggested to wait until spring to see if the problem intensifies or not. Another problem that he identified was that there was something wrong with right motor mount (cap broken or something like that) so we replaced both left and right motor mounts (part numbers FR3Z-6038-H and FR3Z-6038-G). The sound didn't go away, but in addition to that, a second type of noise appeared

The second one is also high pitched and sounds like a broken bearing - you can hear like something metallic is revolving, frictioning and rustling, creating the noise. This noise is constant, and it is audible when driving over around 10-15 mph and it doesn't really go away

It seems to me that both noises come from the same source. Things that I noticed:

- the longer I drive, the less audible the squeaking sound becomes, and the more audible rotating sound becomes
- both of them come from approximately the same place - under the hood in front of the passenger seat. you can clearly hear them as a passenger and as a driver
- sometimes they intervene with each other
- both of them are audible when rolling with foot off the gas pedal
- neither is audible when standing still or revving the engine regardless if car is lifted or not
- sometimes when heavily braking, you can hear the "rotating" noise intensifying and becoming the squeaky noise for a second until a stop
- when driving at around 50 mph, I tried slightly turning wheel left and right repeatedly, and rotating sound actually disappears for a second while slightly turning right, and intensifies while slightly turning left
- again, squeaking is only audible when going over bumps, while rustling is audible all the time when driving at speeds of ~10-15 mph and higher
- noises are not too loud, you can only hear it when no music is playing, but both bother me a lot, especially the second one

I am looking for at least some clues, as I have no idea what is it that can be revolving and rustling under the hood but not be related to the drivetrain. The sound is so clear and apparent, it is just "right here" but no one has any idea of what it could possibly be. Please see the video attached. It is taken from open glove compartment area while moving at 40-55 mph and you can hear the second sound I talked about. It is probably more audible in headphones. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Have you checked the turbo bearing? One of the loaners the dealer gave me sounded just like that I could hear it more if I was driving next to a wall.

thanks, I'll have it specifically checked next time. It would be strange if it was the turbo though, as the sound is only there when you are moving, not standing still, so in my understanding it should be related to either wheel movement or the air flow

Goodness.

Must be tough wanting to drive a Mustang in a country with no dealership or tech support.

Best of luck OP.

It's not exactly like this, there are Ford dealerships and they do service Mustangs, they just don't sell them

Had car taken to one of those multiple times recently, and they finally found the problem. I had engine and transmission bottom protection installed, and during installation one nut was misplaced to the point that it was pressing up against transmission mount, and the sound was from the friction between the two. In total it took 5 or 6 visits to different car services to resolve the problem, but in the end it wasn't as bad as I imagined
