Well I’ve finally figured out what supercharger. I believe the Whipple Gen 5 for my 2018 GT A10 will be my best bet. My main thing is I’ve heard of alot people adding boost to these new 18/19 mustangs and blowing them up. That’s what I’m trying to avoid, I guess that’s why I baby my car lol.

I just want to know from those who have the supercharger already.

What problems have you had?

Is 700-750 whp safe? Should I go with a stage 1 or 2 with the goal numbers I’m looking to get.

I have headers so I can’t use Whipples tunes. With that being said who would you guys recommend far as tuner wise.

I do plan adding OPG too

Please feel free to leave tips and advice ;) it will be greatly appreciated

I went with PBD, but LUND is great as well. I can t speak to what's going on with hearing about blown motors, but PBD speaks to how these motors are sensitive to knock and heat in making power. Here is an example of what PBD has done on an 18 Whipple.

So I’m deep into a ‘19 whipple build at this point and I think I can help some.

The first thing you need to do is make a choice about what fuel you’re going to run. For example, 700+ is not doable on the pump gas where I live because it’s complete crap. Sure I could run a half can of Boostane every fill up, but that quickly gets annoying and I wasn’t thrilled with how the octane booster was coating everything in orange residue.

I had to switch to E85 to make reliable safe power, which fortunately I do have access to quality pump E85. So, if you have decent 93 available, 700 shouldn’t be a big deal (it just wasn’t in the cards for me on my local gas). Get the stage 2 for the larger throttle body.

For tuning I use lund. Most of the top tuners will give you relatively close performance, but for me the thing I found that ended up being important was service and experience with my tuner. Lund has got a really great system down for quickly and effectively giving you a safe tune backed by research and experience and I couldn’t be happier. I literally receive replies to my logs within minutes during normal business hours. I havent experienced it first hand, but I’ve heard of other tuners that can take a week plus just to reply to you.

Lastly on the longevity of the engine, the best thing you can do is just don’t stress over it. Some engines pop at low power, some at high. Despite all the hysteria, there hasn’t been a smoking gun found that shows something inherently wrong with all gen 3 motors. There are plenty living around the 700 hp range and doing just fine (mine being one of those). I will tell you that this is my second gen 3 coyote though, my first one had bad rings and was burning oil from day one and ford bought it back. As long as you can’t tell anything is majorly wrong with your engine (which you would know if it was, like burning two quarts of oil in a thousand miles), just send it and forget it. Enjoy the car.

Here is another great Dyno comparison by PBD going from stock whipple cal to PBD cal then stage 2 whipple setup.
