I have several questions for the experts as I had a bad experience on my last build but want to try it again. Bad tune and BOOM on 1st pass.
I have done a lot of research and like what I see with the Whipple. I have a 15 GT Auto with suspension work and a 3” catback.
I see the Whipple setup has done as good as 670rwhp with the 132mm TB, dual fans @ 11-12 psi using Whipple’s tune. That’s great.
My goal is to stay @ or under 600 rwhp for added peace of mind as this car will not see the track and is a DD.
I want the dual fans for the heat in south Lousiana but do I need the bigger TB for <600 rwhp?
Should I change pulley size and stay around 8-9 psi for safety?
I am interested in the warranty offered by Whipple, is the 36month 36,000 mile from install or from new car?
Do I have to pay shop to install for warranty or just stay with Whipple's tune?
If I have to use a shop are there any in my area I can trust and are fair on install price?

Thanks for any help,

Not an expert by any means but I do have the Whipple kit with the larger throttle body and fans and it put down 650rwhp out of the box.I have since put a smaller pulley on with no issues. I also got the warranty. Its still a conservative tune and is safe. I had mine installed with dyno for $1300.00. As far as the larger throttle body if it was me I would get it. If your going to invest that kind of money get it right the first time. Love the whipple.:headbang:

I have an automatic and have the Whipple installed with the larger TB. Everything else including the exhaust is completely stock.

The latest tune and larger TB provided much better numbers. Before the larger TB installlation and latest tune my numbers were 505 HP. After the install of the larger TB and latest tune I went to 583 HP. I am attaching the dyno run for your review.

I am sure Dustin can comment on the warranty part.

Any Whipple owners concerned about the stock oil pump gears? Did you install an aftermarket harmonic balancer to help?

I'll just out this out there.......... Changing the oil pump gear is a great idea and is worth the piece of mind no questions asked.

That said, I did not do it. Tasca Ford has a very very close relationship with Whipple and have installed many many many Whipples on 11-15 mustangs and have not once changed the oil pump gear. They tell me they have never had a failure of any kind on any of their cars.

I have since installed the 10 rib kit which comes with ATI harmonic balancer so I feel much better having this.

Honestly, I will probably have mine done this winter because to me, $1,000 ish is worth my peice of mind.

Don't know if I helped or worsened your decision/question lol
