These look really good. I might try this. It's always annoyed me that the active mufflers were a 900 dollar option with terrible single wall "tips" that are totally unfinished..
what does single wall vs double wall tip mean?

This guy has it right. The tips just look finished and not like a cheap piece of pipe they threw on.

The outer wall is rolled to the inside to create a double wall. It creates a a fuller rolled lip, looks much better in my opinion.

Did you get around to welding the tips yet?
My neighbor has a welder but didn't have wire for stainless steel. He picked some up this week so hoping to do it in the next few days.

Do the clamps have to be on the bottom or can they be rotated to the top so they can’t be seen as easily?
You can cut the clamps off with a dremel and weld them on like I did.

It will also allow the tips to sit an inch further into the valance and be flush like the stock ones.

Cut the tips today. Struggled with my first few blades. They were cheap Milwaukee metal blades. I ended up going to home depot and buying a diablo carbide blade on my saw zaw. came out pretty good, measurements aren't exact but the new tips are double rolled and push in far enough where the edge of the new tip hits the existing tip making them aligned perfectly.

Had it welded last night by a buddy. Looks great, so much better than the thin stock tips. I painted the weld marks that came through the inside of the exhaust, just gave it a touch of satin black. Im sure the carbon will cover it soon anyways. All in I spent $68 on 4 tips, $20 on new saw zaw blades & $50 for the welding. Total $138
