The 5 year run is what I've heard that Ford was telling suppliers when they were having them quote components for the GT350. Not sure how that'll hold up in the long run, but it certainly seems to have been an assumption at some point in the program. No Ford is not going to run the GT350 for 5 years..pleaseIts a two year run, and that it, then Ford is going to release another HOT car..remember Fords plan to release XYZ amount of cars by 2020...
The invitation from Ford was for a 2 year program - 2016 & 2017 model years. We signed ours and sent it to Ford, and they just charged us for the $1,000 sign up fee a few weeks ago after sending up a case of brochures, posters, and a cool GT350 brake rotor business car holder (that's currently sitting on my desk full of my business cards, of course).
Sounds quite reasonable. Unlikely that Ford went to the lengths of development on this offering for only 2 full model years. That is very unlikely. They can pull the plug after 3 years or so if it isn't to their expectations. Don't judge or predict sales 3 years down the road based on enthusiasts chomping at the bit right now. Things can change, lots of "ifs" here and nothing etched in stone. The 5 year run is what I've heard that Ford was telling suppliers when they were having them quote components for the GT350. Too early for any information about 2017s.Thanks that is helpful information. When would you say would be appropriate to contact dealers about 2017 GT 350's, not the R version. Would they even know there 2017 allocation yet ?
Yes they should know if they have a 2017 allocation. I know myself and at least a few others have already put deposits down to secure the purchase, my dealer had 4 interested parties on the 2017 allocation due to no ADM by the middle of August. One man from out of state said it was one of the few dealers not charging 5k+ for even the 2017. All of the dealers I have talked to that aren't asking an ADM of more than 5k have already taken deposits on their 2017 allocations. Thanks that is helpful information. So dealers are taking deposits on '17s with buyers agreeing to $5,000 over sticker? I find that extremely hard to believe. Could anyone be that stupid.Yes they should know if they have a 2017 allocation. It's never too early.
Ford will likely start telling dealers what their '17 allocations are next spring or summer, so hang on for about 5-6 months before trying to secure a '17 allocation. Thanks that is helpful information. I said asking, not getting. I wanted to wait and see and it almost cost me. I just hope ford doesn't do like dodge and jump the price 3-4k for the 2017 model year.So dealers are taking deposits on '17s with buyers agreeing to $5,000 over sticker? They did that with the boss 302, could be very possible.I said asking, not getting. I wanted to wait and see and it almost cost me. I just hope ford doesn't do like dodge and jump the price 3-4k for the 2017 model year.
