I'd say 50k tops. I have seen other members say they were offered 45k. I was offered 55k from a dealer but they really wanted to move the car I was looking at. I wound up selling mine for 1k more than I paid for it. I had no plans to sell it but I got to drive it for 8 months for free basically and I wanted to go a different route.

I was just offered 50k. He's trying to get 51k. I think I will wind up keeping it especially at 50k. 51k and ???????
I'd hold out for 52, they gave me 50k for my 7500 mile tech pack with a replacement engine. This is in MN that isn't as good as a sports car market as yours I'm guessing.

If you get 52, I think it is no brainer to do the trade and not go through the hassle of selling it privately if you do get the tax break like a lot of us do on the trade price.

If you get credit for the trade and you can get 51-52k I would prob trade it in vs deal with tire kickers. The market in general is softening for the GT350, brand new ones are going for MSRP daily so I dont think there is much more meat on the bone for a PP sale unless you find the right buyer

I have a 2016 track pack with 2300 miles on it. Excellent condition. Kelley blue book pits top of trade in value at $52.7k

Trading towards an R.

Offsetting tax vs private party sale and overall value.

Thoughts?
KBB is not the the best for placing value on a vehicle, I've seen cars sell for 1.5 times KBB value it they are desirable and in vogue.

Obviously there are a lot of factors to consider with respect to motivation, cash flow, state tax relief, garage space, car insurance, etc. but if you can I would hold out for ~$53,000 especially if you are paying an ADM on your new R model.

I would like to think that your dealership will work with you on your trade based on the fact (an assumption on my part) that you are paying an ADM for your R.

It's frustrating enough to take a hit on the purchase price of your R but for your dealership to ask you to also take a hit on your trade as well does not make much sense to me.

Hopefully your dealership will work with you and that both parties end up with a positive hand shake deal when it is all over!

Good Luck!!

If they come back at the $51k and that's something you can live with then go for it. I hate trying to sell privately. Dealing with low ball offers - I'll give you $43k cash money right now, trade offers - I have an immaculate '92 Tahoe with low miles and a Honda Shadow with extra rims I'll trade straight across, and the effing scammers that want to send an associate to pick up your car drive me nuts!

Kbb on my car was 53k. Dealer offers me 48k. Private party sale was 62k + the refund of my warranty.

Sell it privately

Yeah or you say "NO TRADES!" and yet people keep offering their 2008 Charger RT with 22's and hasn't been washed since leaving the dealership yard plus $500.

Or here's a good one I went through with my 2011 GT...dude agrees on 21.5 with me. Says he has bank approval for up to 25K. Next day, texts me and says the bank will only give up 16.5K but is willing to offer what the bank will give him.

Unfortunately KBB offers little to no value. It's all about what the last few sold for at auction. Figure 1000-2000 below auction price so the dealer can make some money. Often dealers will say you are getting more but then they don't discount the car as much as they should. I don't typically trade in but when I do, I never say anything about a trade until we have come to an agreement on the price of the car. Most tems wind up selling it privately.

Private party sales can be a big hassle, and the numbers you're talking the tax savings by trading is significant. For me, 1k less on trade than I hoped for would not be a deal breaker given the ease of the transaction. This is also if the R ADM was reasonable.
