No don't worry.

I have a priority code 19 too, a good friend of mine works at the dealership I ordered mine at, and told me the standard order code priority for a "special order" is 19.

This priority code stuff people go on about on here is nonsense.

I do all the ordering for a big Ford/Lincoln dealer (been here 16 years) and the priority code is very important. Retail (special) orders can be numbered 10-19. When I code one with a 10, that tells Ford that I want that one built before #'s 11-19. Ford will build in priority code order within the dealer for that model of car unless there are parts missing for an order causing Ford to skip over that order this week.

Your friend at the dealership doesn't seem to understand that 19 is the default number the ordering system assigns to a retail order, but it is not the highest priority a dealer can choose for any given order.

This is good to know thank you. So it seems if someone ordered this late with a higher priority they would still jump ahead of me.. Is it worth calling up my dealer to see if this can be changed?

Stock orders started being built 8/3.
Retail orders won't start being scheduled until early September and won't get built for a couple weeks after that.

Production is what? 300 cars per day? Retail orders should get priority, so order today and you'll still get in on the first couple weeks of production once they start being built.

And yeah, mid October is a good guess.
Anyone have an idea or guess on how many retail orders Ford would have received? Because if they can build 300 a day it wouldn't seem like too long before they would complete all the retail orders received by now. I ordered mine on 7/3.

Absolutely Correct!

I placed my order 7/6/15, understood production did not start until 8/3/15. As of today order is still unscheduled clean, no VIN or dates. Salesman says they have been told no '16 customer orders have been scheduled in past 4 weeks. Anyone know if this is normal changeover issue, or is something else going on?
Congrats on your order, 16_ragtop. We’re not scheduling retail orders at this time, but I’m happy to check on yours. Please PM me with your dealer’s name and order number.

I ordered mine first weekend the order banks opened but priority 19 so would that mean someone who just ordered with a lower priority be before me?

Orders are scheduled based on the following criteria, guys:
-the priority code rating
-the dealer's allocation for each production week
-the ordered option content
-the receipt date
The receipt date is a factor when breaking ties for orders with the same priority code. Therefore, the date is the last factor. I hope this helps.

My dealer told me yesterday that Ford is building as many cars as they can in anticipation of a UAW strike in September.

"United Auto Workers (UAW) locals are collecting food and encouraging union members to save for a potential strike when the Big Three four-year labor agreement expires on September 14.

After a decade of concessions, the unions want to restore everything they lost"

http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...p-growth-by-preparing-to-strike-in-september/

Also a year ago they were saying that a strike in 2015 was inevitable.

Can confirm stock orders have started. My car was built 8/7, but has not yet been released from QC for shipment. I know several folks have confirmed first build date was 8/3. Hopefully they clear quickly and retail orders schedule soon!

:amen:

Earliest retail builds will start is Tuesday, September 8th. That's IF "OK to Buy" is granted on August 31st. Scheduling for the week of September 7th would be completed on September 3rd. That would be 4 days of production before a strike... Monday, the 7th is Labor Day.

I'm optimistic... more time to collect parts and stash cash.
Or maybe Plan B... scour the lots for a 2015.

That is all...

I didn't order my car until 7/7, but I am a priority 10, but I don't see mine being built that first week. I wonder if you can get your non-refundable deposit back due to the strike? :ninja:

My dealer said if price or anything was an issue I could get my deposit back. So I am not worried, if I have to wait longer I will be more worried about getting my car when it snows or bad weather. That is no good.

It snows in Virginia? ;) At least it will snow later in Virginia in comparison to Massachusetts. :headbonk:

Yup, we had a foot at one point this past winter. Though nothing like you guys get. Snow usually starts Jan/Feb for us typically, though sometimes before.
