The Flat Rock Assembly Plant builds Ford Mustangs and Ford Fusions at the same time, ElAviator72.

On the same line, though? I know that the Flat Rock plant is huge (something like 3 million square feet). Every picture I've seen shows an assembly line full of Mustangs-I wouldn't be surprised if there's a separate assembly line for just Mustangs

Congrats! How did you get your window sticker? COTUS doesn't work on 2016 cars...I've tried Research Maniacs (www.researchmaniacs.com), but I think they must have been been using the FordDirect link (which I understand was turned off for non-Ford dealer useage). Hoping mine is a leap day baby as well

Yes, on the same line. The plant is completely flexible. A Mustang can follow a Fusion that followed a Mustang.

Fusion will be done this month, Flat Rock will be all Mustang until Continental launches this fall and then will be back to two products.

To my surprise, the sticker is live on FordDirect by adding my 17 digit VIN at the end of this URL.

Based on your sig, it looks like window stickers go live a week before the build date then.

Was your build week that was given when you got the VIN accurate? I was told it's an estimate, so I'm curious.

Yes, it's my understanding that the sticker goes live about 5-7 days before build date. My build week is exactly the same as the one given. My fingers are crossed firmly at this point!

My order date was 15 days after yours, so with fingers crossed I trust that I will get a VIN number sooner than later and then things will start rolling along for me as well.

Fairly new to this forum, but I've been reading up on it for a while now. I was just wondering... how long after your order date did you get confirmation that the order went through? When do you get the VIN and the build date? I assume the length of time can vary, but when should I expect to hear from the dealer about any of this information?

Order date was February 23, 2016. I know i'm being extremely eager, but any information would be appreciated.

You should get an order number from your dealer...that is the confirmation. Ask your salesman for that At my particular dealer, this arrived via mail (the owner of the dealership sent me a thank you note along with the order number!)

Once you know that, you send a Personal Message to Deysha [MENTION=7992]FordService[/MENTION] on this site with your dealer's name, your real name, and the order number, and she can tell you how your order is progressing at the factory ;) Welcome to the "Waiting for my Pony" club
