I hope they get rid of the giant Ford logo in the windshield and replace it with the horse again.

This won't change. Ford execs said there had to be one Ford logo on the car and this is where it ended up.

Is there any official word that Sync2 and 3 will be offered by Ford at the same time? Because it makes no sense. It's not just software that's different it's also the hardware. Seems it would be overly complex to keep Sync2 and it's hardware along with the new Sync3 option and the base option. Too much going on. Why would you keep something old around when you have a replacement? It would be like Dell introducing a new laptop when Windows 10 comes out, but to get Windows 10 you would need to purchase the i7 cpu to get it. If you want the i5 you would be stuck with Windows 8. This rumor just doesn't add up.

I doubt Ford will put the touch-screen Sync 2 in the base Mustang.

I think you're confusing 'Sync' with 'Sync with My Ford Touch'. Base cars with the small screen have Sync 2 and will remain Sync 2. Premium cars with MFT will lose MFT and that will be replaced with Sync 3. Make more sense?

It seems a lot of people are confusing Sync 2 with My Ford Touch. My Ford Touch will not be available simultaneously with Sync 3. Sync 2 is what is in the base car, Sync 2 with My Ford Touch is in the premium car. For 2016 Sync 2 will remain in the base car and Sync 3 will replace the My Ford Touch system. The upgrade from Sync 2 to Sync 3 in a base car *may* show up as an option.

I think the issue is that to keep people from being confused Ford should have not called it sync3 and instead should have called it MyFordTouch V3 or something similar. That way it's not confused with sync2 that is in the base model that does not have the big touch screen.

Sync 3 will be an option at an extra cost of $300+ (I believe $349 to be exact). Sync 2 will stay in place.

I thought Sync 3 was standard on the premiums.

QNX Sync 3, the new and improved, will be standard in 2016 models?
Microsoft Sync 2, basic small screen, will stay standard in base?

That was my understanding. Not QNX being a $300, upgradable option.

If you get the top base radio, you will have sync2

If you get the bottom premium radio you will have sync3
