If in 2016 or 2017 the mustang got magnetic suspension for the performance models (Mach 1 or boss 302) that would be sweet and it seems possible since Ford doesn't really want the competition getting ahead of them. Gotta love rivalry

I recently found out that the new Camaro is getting magnetic suspension as an option. That's gonna be huge. For the Corvette, it's "only" an $1800 option, so it's definitely affordable.
That sounds good

For the 2016 MY, does anyone know if you'll be able to get BLIS as a stand alone option without having to order the 201a / 401a packages?
I don't think the Shaker is that much of an upgrade and I don't need the memory seats option.
Thanks!

BLIS will not be a stand-alone option for 2016.

Can't wait to see the California Special!

Brian, any idea when Ford would likely release images? Ordering begins 5/11, right, so would people be expected to order without having seen what they're getting?

:)

BLIS will not be a stand-alone option for 2016.

Do you know if they are adding anything new to the 401a package? Will Nav be the same price as in 2015?

It doesn't appear that any content is being added to the 401A package, but the California Special is an option on 401A cars.

There's no pricing info on 2016 Mustangs or their options yet, but the cost of nav didn't change on other 2016 Fords that we have pricing on, so I don't expect it to change for Mustang.

I would hope that Ford would release images of the California Special before ordering starts, but I often have to order new model year goodies sight unseen unfortunately. Keep in mind that initial model year orders are typically for stock orders (dealer inventory) and Ford holds off a bit on scheduling retail orders (for customers) until after the 'okay to buy' is given. That gives customers a few extra weeks to see if Ford releases images of new offerings (such as the CS/GT). I know it's ot ideal, but that's typical with new model/option offerings.

I want an option on the base GT to get the GT Premium rear valance plus over the top stripes

Please ford?? We know you read this.

:ford:
If Ford does read this, I'd like to put in a plug for some new colors for 2016 like light blue metallic or light green metallic. I recently returned my 2012 GT to the leasing company and have been holding back on ordering a new one in the hope that the color selection will expand. It might also be nice if the Performance Package was available without the juvenile delinquent black wheels. There must be some other people out there who don't want their car to remind people of the Deathmobile in the movie Animal House. I can't be the only adult who doesn't appreciate the "angry" look. For every car that Ford sells with with a snake skin paint job or hissing snake fender graphics, I think they will alienate hundreds who otherwise would like to own a Mustang .

I am also sad about the color choices. Nothing is very appealing to me. I would have already bought one if grabber blue was available. Gotta have it green is an amazing color too

Nobody posted this http://www.autoblog.com/2015/05/07/2016-ford-mustang-california-special-teaser/ yet ?

Hardly any news about CS but date of May 11th is something I guess.
I saw this earlier but didn't post it because there is no factual information that the writer is referencing about where he got this May 11th reveal.

There have been no official announcements from Ford about May 11th and the reveal of the '16 so I wouldn't take this Autoblog article for fact. In fact, he might have gotten his information from here.
