I have a 2016 Ecoboost Performance Package, MT-82. My friend has a 2017 GT Performance Package, MT-82. We are in the middle of a differential swap between the two, but just noticed the pinion flanges are different... He has the manual transmission pinion flange, as he should.
My EB PP 3.55 diff has an automatic transmission pinion flange on it. Is this a thing they did to the ecoboosts?!?
Everything I am reading says it doesn't matter what engine you have, you either have a manual or auto pinion flange. Did ford use automatic parts on their manual ecoboosts, or did my car get built wrong?!? Quite annoyed at this, shutting our weekend project down hard... I've found pictures of automatic ecoboost differentials, and their flanges match mine. I cannot find an image of an ecoboost manual diff, however.
