It has USB in.

I use this. Only sticks out enough to pull out with a fingernail

yeah I get the USB in thing and thats great. my concerns here are is if the system will read FLAC, and getting a decent EQ. Im sure a 3.5mm can be added but maybe not with the jump to Sync 3.

Hmmm does it have bluetooth? maybe ill go that route though last time i used bluetooth in a ford car it sounded like cardboard rubbing.

Listening FLAC in a car is as pointless as washing a car before a thunderstorm.
Bluetooth audio has advanced a lot over the years. Sound quality is not an issue now.

Sending FLAC through BT? Might as well get a good MP3 from the lossless source and use those via USB.

HOWEVER ...

I just dropped a Violin concerto in D major FLAC file, 24BIT/352.8kHz onto a thumb drive and guess what? It plays, and it sounds pretty glorious :D

(I actually copied both the 352.8 and a 24BIT/192kHz file, I believe it indexed them both, but I'll confirm later if you're interested :))

I kind of agree, but it might be a purely for convenience, i.e., a single file for improved listening at home. I keep some of both, but I only use lossy on my mobile media sources/in the car.

My stuff ia all in flac for everything else including my daily 2 hour train trip. This is where my mp3 is used the most with a pair of ultrasone 780s. It sounds amazing and makes my commute not torture. I also use it for home use with a dac and amp and headphones there. So view this as less of a fancying up of car audio and more of a trickle down of what i already have.

If the flac works there shouldnt be a problem, i can probably plug my mp3 in and use it as storagd instead of a player. Worse comes to worse ill toss them on a thumb drive and have them seperate. Ill have to see what FLAC format i have them in as i remember only certain ones worked with my player, and i havent touched them since setting it up.

Figured as much on the single source. Nice phones, my daily desk cans are Senn 558s, I like the open design to prevent too much isolation, especially for VOIP use, but I've got some better closed options when I go into total listening mode, and a nice little FiiO amp.

If you want me to test anything, shoot me a PM, and I can confirm compatibility with the '16 HU. TBH, I was a little surprised, I mean, it's just a decoder/lib for handling FLAC, but that didn't seem like something they would worry about.

'16 PP has a temp sensor in differential.
Cool beans! Is it accessible to the driver (via the gauge menu) or do you have to use Torque to get to it? ;)

2016 dropped the best color option... KONA BLUE.

Also, no more 50 Year Limited Edition or appearance package. So no more chrome trim on the car for you!

Should check out the Focus RS...my dealer has a Kona Blue RS in the showroom right now. It's a beauty:love:

But I think I'm done with Front Wheel Drive. Staying in the 'Stang world, even if it costs a couple of grand more to do so :headbang:
