I came across this article by car and driver.

http://www.caranddriver.com/features/2015-ford-mustang-leaked-360-view-and-full-details-news

The part that caught my attention was:
"However, the Mustang’s 2015 model year will be a long one—as was 1965—and thus, Ford will offer powertrain upgrades in the months after its launch. Updates to the V-6 will be minimal, but we understand that the GT-badged “five-oh” will jump to 500 horsepower. "

Anyone know if this is true? I was looking to purchase a GT this weekend but can wait if they are going to jump the hp to 500.

I would put money that the 5.0 stays put at 435 HP for 2015 and 2016 model year. They may be referring to the 5.2 liter flat plane crank engine that may be coming out for the GT350 later this model year is my guess.

That's what I thought. Didn't see how they would get 65 hp out of a tune.

That article is from December of last year, much of the info was just far fetched guesstimates back then...

all guesswork. Ford will probably throw another 20 or so in at the refresh, maybe 3 years?
