If you want to have a conversation with adult Camaro and Mustang enthusiasts who can talk intelligently about comparing similarly equipped and purposed Pony Cars, please use this thread.

My first preference for seeing a similarly equipped 2015 Mustang GT with a 2015 Camaro would be to match the GT PP 400A Premium against the 2SS with the Suspension Package.

These two would be similarly equipped and priced as well as being purposed for performance street use and occasional track. Ideally they would be tested in various on and off track tests and in various weather conditions.

Additionally, I would like to see a 2015 version of the car in this article, http://www.stangtv.com/tech-stories/...97-suspension/ matched against a 1LE with any additional suspension or tire components that would be desirable, other than trying to make a 1LE into a Z28.

I'm with you. I thought the comparo between the loaded GT PP and the 1LE was grossly unfair. The tell was the shit eating grin on the guy's face when he explained it was a comparison of "performance pack to performance pack". It was an unfair comparison of a limited production stripper track car and a volume production loaded out street car and he knew it.

Want something realistic? Compare a similarly equipped GT and SS. Then watch the SS get it's butt kicked.

Would anyone have any idea what it would cost if Ford were to offer a version of the GT with all of the suspension and tire components stripped out of a base GT and the FR parts from this article http://www.stangtv.com/tech-stories/...97-suspension/ (plus cat-backs and minus the supercharger) added to make a GT Track Package? Could it come in under $40K?

Please ignore the GT350 question.

How is the 1LE a limited production stripper?

It's a package that can be added at any time to any 1SS or 2SS, just like how the base or premium GT can have the Performance Pack added to it. Both change the tires, suspension and gearing.

GTPP to 1LE is a fair comparison, and the 1LE won, changing the parameters of the test to fit the conclusion you want is dishonest and frankly cheap as hell.

Note that now in Canada when you configure a Camaro, the '1LE Track Pack' is not available. It is called the 'Performance Pack' and has all of the same upgrades as the low volume track purposed 1LE.

There is no end to the crap that GM pulls to keep up or ahead of the Mustang.

1LE is an option...? Or a model..?
1LE is an option that can be added to the 1SS or 2SS to turn it from a high volume street purposed car into a low volume track purposed car. The Z28 and ZL1 are separate models to do more of the same.

You keep calling the 1LE a low volume car, there are no restrictions on the 1LE.

The only reason you don't see many 1LE's is because not many are ordered. If 6,000 1LE's were ordered in a month, and the supplies were sufficient, 6,000 1LE's would have been produced. 1LE's also get hit with a Gas Guzzler tax which tends to put a damper on orders.

This, GT w/ PP to a Camaro with Suspension Package is ridiculous and what I call reaching.

Absolutely ridiculous... Are we serious about comparing a Suspension Package with front and rear stability bars, upgraded wheel bearing and toe links to a "Performance Package" with a larger radiator, Brembo Brakes, gear, wheel, and tire?

Sorry, but I am not going to join you in that endless argument.
