2015 Mustang Production / Ordering Schedule

How could they just now be figuring that out?? They've run hundreds of cars through already. And honestly, they could fix that problem in a matter of days. You could pump out thousands of new badges in hours. Sounds like BS to me.

Sounds like he is referring to his wrong dealer. He mistaken his Ford dealer for his crack dealer.

I just finished speaker with the Fleet Manager that ordered my GT. As he explains the process... (1) The first cars built are Stock orders. When they are finished, they are all stored in an inspection lot. The Ford QA team goes through each one to see if there are any problems with the builds. (2) Once QA clears the cars, they are then shipped to the respective dealers. (3) The dealer then does a delivery inspection and reports back to Ford. (4) Ford then gives the OK for the dealer to sell the stock units. (5) The retail orders now go into production. Then the QA and dealer inspections take place. So, having a custom or "retail" order (which I have) is actually better, but does take longer. Then I was told that checking the "cotus" web site every day is a waste. Ford takes in new orders on Wednesdays, and the scheduling ONLY occurs on Thursdays. So just check once a week on Thursdays. These long delays up front help prevent massive recalls like we've seen at GM.

Good info! My dealer actually told me something of the same, but not as much detail.

Mine told me this aways back. Thats why we were seeing days like the Sept 11th, 18th, etc. Check what day of the week those dates fall on.

My dealer told me last week that they were expecting my Stock order Mustang (Build 9/9/2014) to arrive no latest of mid October. Today he called me saying how they just had the dealer training with the training Mustang ecoboost that's been going around the area and my guy said that upon asking the trainer when they should expect to get the mustangs the trainer said "Ford has been saying November November November for the mustangs all along".

My guy then went on to explain that the trainer said Ford was going to be releasing the EPA data for the Mustang this week (even though we know the data was released a little bit ago)...

Think this trainer knew what he was talking about or was he kinda grasping at thin air??

COTUS updates daily... maybe even hourly.

There are updates today on cars that were not there Friday, or this morning.

Maybe COITUS shows more frequent changes after a car has received a VIN or has been scheduled, but it would make sense that the initial In Processing status would only advance beyond if it is scheduled on the Thursdays.

Has anyone received a VIN on anything other than a Thursday?

Cotus changes so infrequently, it's probably better to watch paint dry. But for some reason it doesn't stop me from refreshing. Although to be fair, my car is supposed to be in production, so I can't help it.

But I'll deal. Besides, it gives time for mods to come out and get some good reviews so they're ready by the time my car comes. It's going to suck getting the car then having to take it to the shop to get 'fixed'.
