2015 Mustang Production / Ordering Schedule

For the (I think) sixth time. There is not ONE queue for all orders placed. It's one for every dealer. So when you order is only relevant relative to YOUR dealer, not any of the others. And even then it's not relevant, since priority is how the dealer deals with ordering. Ie, they can put someone that comes in today ahead of everyone else that has ordered at the dealer simply by setting a higher priority (lower number) than you have.

So the fact that you ordered the same time as he did means very very little.

So, I`m assuming that the Salesman at the same Ford Dealership that I previously purchased new Ford Vehicles as Retail Orders in both 2010 (2011 Fiesta) and in 2013 (2013 C-Max Hybrid) put my Order for my 2015 Mustang Convertible on Sept 2, as Retail Order (X-Plan) Priority 10 did me right? Maybe Christmas you think? He was going to Order a second identical Vehicle as Dealer Stock as a back up and let me have which ever arrived first. GM said No! Why? I requested Spoiler Delete Option # 13D and that alone killed the back-up Duplicate! Oh well...when it gets here, it gets here....

I don't get that either, when I was looking at '14's I had a dealer build one with spoiler delete, it looks so much cleaner on both the '14 and '15's IMO. For some reason dealers think people only buy Mustang's due to it's Racy/Sporty Spoiler not because its a great overall car.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered somewhere by now, but is there any word on about how many Mustangs Ford is producing per day and/or week? Or how many they expect to be if they're not yet at peak capacity?

Don't raise the pitchforks but I believe it's 300-600 a day and 900~ at peak..

Watched the Ford factory documentary recently, and IIRC they said they build about 680 Mustangs per day at Flat Rock. That was S197s, and I doubt that was maximum production capacity either.

In the early stages for the S550, I wouldn't be surprised if it is/was in the 300 per day range. Once they are in full swing (if they are not already), probably 600-700 or more per day.

So basically I think your numbers cover all the bases. ;)

This is why I'm hopeful that those of us that placed retail orders a couple months after the order banks opened may not really have to wait that much longer for our cars than those that placed retail orders back in May. I'm guessing a majority of the overall orders Ford has in the queue currently are dealer stock, and once they get those knocked out, with the ability to build several hundred a day, they'll plow through the retail orders pretty quickly.

I just don't think there has been enough public awareness about the order banks being open to this point to have spurred a ton of retail orders. I bet that's about to change though in the next couple weeks when the press embargo gets lifted and Ford starts their marketing blasts.

I agree that the wait shouldn't be that much longer. Those that ordered in May had a built-in "dead" time of 3 months until they even started to build, whereas those who ordered 2 or 3 months later, didn't.

I think you are on it. The total number of retail orders right now is probably less than a month's production. Likely a lot less. And you are also correct that the backlog will explode when the ad campaign starts.

I woke this morning, just like all the other members and the first thing i checked was my order status. order #2222 Dealer #f48100. Order still in order processing. This sucks... Hurry up Ford, Its getting colder in Michigan and would really like to drive my new car farther than the garage.
