Happy for ya. But it really pisses me off. Why bother opening order banks in may if its going to be sept before it even gets scheduled ?
You getting an MP1 build? Will you have to have anything done to it to make it saleable?
I agree with you but this is easy to answer. There was much media attention on this car in the March through May timeframe that generated a lot of sales inquiries. It's better to take orders and hope they wait instead of admitting custom orders won't be scheduled until late summer or early fall. Now taking such an early order and demanding a non-refundable deposit is a stretch of ethics in my opinion.
I was told the first time I went to the dealership in March that stock orders would populate dealerships before custom orders for a very good reason. Ford wants to work out all of the kinks on the stock run before they produce the custom orders for the enthusiasts who would know when something was wrong with say a tape line, or sound tube. I asked if it was possible to build my car in the stock order and was told it wasn't advisable, but they would do it to get my business. I was there at 5PM on 5/20 helping the dealer figure out how to order my car. I have a build week of 8/28. Of course, if they don't get it perfect, I'm returning it :rant:JK

This is the way it always is done. The order banks were open to dealers for their stock orders, not the John Q Public. Why do you think so many people are having issues with salesmen ordering cars. Most, if not all dealers have not even had training on the car. Sorry, but dealer lots have to have product on roll out or fence sitters will go elsewhere.
No where has Ford slid back production dates TMK, Scheduling and Production are two very separate functions. There may be a commodity problem that will delay production, or something didn't go right the first week and they don't want to schedule any more orders until everything is working. Trust me, it is very difficult to reschedule should the need arise. They are probably just being cautious not to create extra work by over scheduling. It is much easier to add to the line, than shift.
You have/had every option to walk into a dealer and work your custom car into their stock vs ordering retail. Blame your dealer if he did not tell you how the process works for new MY cars. It is the same for the new 150, if you want one too.
Yes it does and I bet you will see some of the 2015s on the street. To think they all will be there is ridiculous. I would wager a great deal there are at a minimum 50 thousand people who want a 2015 Mustang in the US alone. At max capacity, it would take 4 to 5 months to build them. Everyone wants the car first at or below invoice. It won't happen, some will get it first and at below invoice, just like some people win scratch off lottery tickets or get front row Stones tickets. There are those who are lucky, and for everyone else it's a wait. :shrug:

This crap pisses me off. It'll pretty much be a 2016 model by the time we get our convertibles! If I wasn't wanting the 50th package I may just wait till the 2016 to see if they offer any other features (or a PP GT like I've been complaining about lol) the :frusty:
