Still not impressed though. A 6.2L engine only beating a 5.0L by a second.. Ford is squeezing a lot more out of their short block it seems..

Ah gotcha, you would be correct. I misread the price tested portion. I only got to watch the video once due to horrible internet and even then it was spotty and a pain to watch in its entirety. The 1LE has Recaro's, it's in the video.
Randy Pobst has been the gold standard for comparing track times for a while now. He is an unbiased race car driver with a credible track record (no pun intended). When the reviews came out recently did you notice how Motor Trend were the only publication to criticise the Mustang? Everyone else loved it. Even in back to back reviews against the M4 it was the preferred vehicle.
I'll wait for more comparisons.
Thanks for assembling the list Chlocli! It puts things in a better context.Summary of times set by Randy Pobst at Streets of Willow for various cars:
Yeah this is one of the things that's spinning my head. Road & Track for example had a number of highly praised reviews and just like you said there have been a few that preferred it over the M4.When the reviews came out recently did you notice how Motor Trend were the only publication to criticise the Mustang? Everyone else loved it. Even in back to back reviews against the M4 it was the preferred vehicle.

Well, you should. The LS3 engine is a great engine (too bad they put it on the ugly Camaro though). If you are going to use displacement as your only metric you are taking a very skewed view at engines in general. The LS is lighter and smaller than the Coyote while matching its power output. When it comes to performance your main concern should be power/weight and by that metric the LS3 engine wins...Still not impressed though. A 6.2L engine only beating a 5.0L by a second..
